Scalpel Bill and I did a very similar ride last Sunday 11/15. Tis the season, indeed.Base 1 finally started bitches!
This was very close to a team road ride we did in the summer, call it Federal Twist.
Time: 03:57:02
Distance: 65 miles
Avg Speed: 16.5 mph
Max Speed: 46.8 mph - personal best!
Avg HR: 135bpm
Elevation gain: 4135 feet

so you train by not killing yourself every time you ride? rather interesting.
i am interested to see what kind of gains you have after this winter fitness wise. Doesn't sound like you will have "Norm kind of time" to spend hours in the saddle each day.
BTW, Have you been commuting?

No commute for last few weeks or more. No road miles really to speak of. I realize now that commuting is really my only way to get miles. So tomorrow, it's on, I'll throw a 40 in the evening, and 30 in the morning.
Sleep is overrated 😉
I have an FB dilemma
she acts like we were intimate or something. I know I did some brain cell destroying things, but still I should have SOME memory of who she is.
are we gonna see you on jerry springer???
another reason not to facebook, to many freaks. stick with mtbnj we have enough freaks here but they can be tolerated cause at least they ride a bike.
My VholdR came today. Euphoria short lived. I think I got a bum unit. Video is all choppy, sound is no good, and the video file won't upload to my video editing software (where my other videos do). So I'm going call support tomorrow. Oh well. 😡
I took my standard route and took it up and through Sourlands, and managed to keep it under 40miles. This is good. I like good roads. Life is too short for un-fun roads

I have an FB dilemma
Some girl from my high school contacted me on facebook, and friend requested me, I accepted. I have no idea who she is. I thought it was the girl I took to the prom... but then she posted up her profile picture, and it isn't her. Unless years took a big toll, but no, it doesn't even look like her remotely. But she acts like we were intimate or something. I know I did some brain cell destroying things, but still I should have SOME memory of who she is. I'm not sure there is a good way to tease out a connection of some sort. I should just ask, "hey who are you anyways?" or "remember when we ... oh wait, I don't".
i see you took snydertown, was this the first time you took that road? I tried it for the first time this past week and it is a gem.
Snydertown is included in most of my road rides.
If I could make a suggestion, you might linger a bit longer on those Sourland backroads. When you get to the end of Snydertown, make a left on Stony Brook Rd. Then right on Mountain Church Rd. Then left on Rileyville Rd. Then right on Ridge Rd. Then right on Lindberg Rd (freshly paved BTW). From there you can take either Spring Hill Rd or Hollow Rd. back down to Rt 518 - either choice is good. This will add a little mileage to your journey but those roads are definitely worth it.
I have done that a few times, excellent couple of roads there.
Jeff, does the dirt section of stony brook connect with mountian road? I think on the maps it shows it does and I have seen both ends of it but never tried it. With my new ride it will make for a nice little connector.
Yes. I've actually done that dirt section on my skinny tires. On wider tires you should be golden.
