You're not wrong. I went down that rabbit hole and all my bikes in rotation now have them. The FS bikes only take 1. Both HT have 2.

15K tuneup / overhaul. new caliper & pads, chain, rebuild front & rear suspension and put the studded tires on for winter.

Fox suspension is only good after using a 3rd party shop to service them. I’ve had so many forks and shocks that felt eh. But after sending them to get a damper service and rebuild, they feel much better than new.

You basically have to pull them apart new. Almost none of them come out of the factory correct.

Thanks to Halters I finally eliminated another headset cable. I had this wireless XT Linkglide 11spd a couple months, gave it a full day trying to get derailleur to power up but didn't have luck. It's directly wired to ebike battery. Anywho Tripp worked some magic and got me setup. Now waiting for wireless brakes 😀

Finally installed the X01 AXS derailleur on the Habit. It's been out of commission for several months when I harvested its derailleur for another bike. Eventually I'll get around to riding it again...

Good old boring maintenance. Waxed chains on both bikes. On the MTB I bled the brakes, installed new pads, and sanded the rotors a bit for a cleaned up surface. Need to find that bedding in thread now.

It has the appropriate .0000000001mm of clearance. And it only rubs if you pedal standing up. 100-miles and the frame should be grooved enough for it to be perfect.

I run those red MTX pads on my trials bike. Only time I flipped over the bars squeezing the rear brake 😂
