Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

excuse me...my focus cost $18,000....has gotten me 198,000 miles so far with absolutely nothing of significance breaking (thermostat housing gasket)...14 years old, still have not replaced ONE light bulb in the car...doesnt burn any oil...original clutch is still great...(Iggy got nearly 300k out of his) I can change any HVAC control without needing to scroll thru a tablet (3 dials is still the best system ever)...I can turn on my wipers without scrolling thru a tablet.....I have a clutch pedal and a tach...
This is why they don't sell them here anymore... they need cars that don't last so long.

Tesla reported its revenue fell 9%, with auto revenue falling 20%. Adjusted income tumbled 39%. Those drops were bigger than forecast. It’s net income, the strictest definition of its profitability, plunged 71% compared to a year earlier.

Tesla warned investors in early April that it had suffered its biggest drop in sales in its history during the first quarter, delivering 50,000 fewer vehicles compared to the first three months of last year. The sales plunge meant that Tesla recorded its lowest sales in nearly three years.

Jesus tap dancing christ!

Elon has well and truly fuct Tesla. Not just in America but Europe as well. The crap he pulled in Germany pushing and supporting the ultra right wing party. Who would have thought people in Europe were a little sensitive about Germany going hard right?

I’m with you. I also don’t want to spend $60k on an EV. So, if the Slate materializes, I could see picking one up, selling my new daily, getting the wife a
New something, and still have my other 4wd vehicle for camping a trips.

Just pulled the trigger on a Lyriq.

Do I have to buy the Tesla adapter? Or are they available at the locations?
Do I care?

Congrats. Depends on if you'll be road tripping it a lot. If not, you'll do most, if not all, your charging at home. Buy a home charger, if you don't have one.

I have a Tesla fast charge adapter Ford sent me for free. I've never used it because we use the plug-in hybrid for road trips.

I bought one on Amazon when we first got the rivian before a trip to Vermont. But the two superchargers we stopped at had the adapters built in. So I returned the Amazon adapter when we got home... Rivian eventually sent us one for free, and I've used it once in the last year, can't remember what trip I used it on. For longer trips, it's certainly nice to have, Tesla's network is more reliable and robust than anything else. For everyday use you shouldn't ever need it, just plug it in when you get home.

Also, the adapters are different for level 2 vs level 3 chargers. I had to get a level 2 adapter (nacs to j1772) to use my Tesla wall charger with the rivian. And the level 3 adapter (nacs to CCS) is for the superchargers.

Getting the GM home charger - it integrates with the car somehow, and the app - one stop shopping.
can also use my GM reward points. Looking to set it up 7.7kw off my garage sub panel - no space in there for more juice.

Thanks for the info - i'll probably find an adapter somewhere (happens!)

Prices on Amazon are all over the place!

I think lectron and a2z were the only two brands I would've bought. The others all had mixed reviews and reliability. . And honestly I think Amazon is full of knock offs nowadays anyway, who knows if you're actually getting what you pay for. Cadillac will probably say you need to buy theirs anyway, lol.

Did you use the rebate? I got to get mine before the 250 rebate shrivels up. I'm probably going with whatever is on the approved list.

I opened this thread and it went to the first page instead of last and saw this.

Funny how Matty's opinion has changed since this post. Now electric only.
This is about cars, no or am I missing something? My answer to owning an EV is still No! EMTB's kept me doing what I love otherwise I may have hung it up all together.
