Yesterday, I drove a friend and their daughter to a game far away. They are in a nice newer toyota. He's been in Tesla's before but seeing me operate the screen controls - traffic, move the audio to the rear speakers only, spotify. He was like damn it I knew I should have gotten a Tesla but I chickened out. So Yeah, they are still a nice car and desirable to some (not @UtahJoe) despite the political lunatics. And I assume he voted democratic too.

Ya I mean my hate of teslas have nothing to do with Elon Musk...I have hated them for many years now. To me they are just soulless, ugly inside and out, uninspiring designs....the electronic everything, no buttons....until very recently....terribly overpriced, build quality is awful....Now that said....do I think Elon has earned the hate he is currently getting? 100%.....you paid 270 million to insert yourself into this political arena....get a position of unbelievable power....laughing at firing tens of thousands of people....meantime being the benefactor of biggest govt contracts....ya, sorry, don't feel bad for you.
 
Back in the 1930’s Henery Ford was a big supporter of Hitler . If I was alive back then, there is no way I would I would have bought a Ford car. If you paid any attention to what Elon did in Germany this winter, you would know what a peace crap he is. No way would I own elons cars now.
 
Not sure what you are getting or responding to but I totally agree with you and the hate EM is getting. Now education is getting attacked. Everyone should be treated equally and fair. Only the middle class IF THAT will survive.

What I was saying is my friend is a democrat (I assume) and he still likes Tesla cars and so do I. Look, I get you. You’re an OG and you build you’re sick ass mustang but owners want simple - enter electric everything. As ya know we have a few gas cars too for hobby.

I mean not a supporter...Henry Ford WAS an actual Nazi. I mean he actually inspired Hitler...He had bought a news paper and had many many anti jewish writings.."the internation jew".....I mean Ford was a real shit bag. Thank goodness, people are okay and two you have the video. Without the video or a witness to testify other party would just blame you. The other car obviously just went without realizing. I actually think the telephone poles blocked their view of your tesla.

Yea, everyone was ok. Their car did flip onto it's side. I did consider that the poles obstructing their view, but i think when they were pulling into the intersection they were focusing too much on the right side and probably should've given another glance to the left.

Elon wasn't such a POS at that time yet, and we were considering getting another Tesla, but the updated 3's were too small and the Y's weren't updated yet. Felt dumb to start over with payments on aY that would be exactly the same. And the S and X just didn't spark enough joy for the money. The rivian showed up with huge discounts and we loved it, so we went that route. Glad it worked out that way and we don't have to deal with the political stigma that driving a Tesla has now, lol. But I'm not taking the batteries off the side of my house because of it 🤣

I was once an Elon fan. No longer. I am a fan of Tesla however. I will not buy one(solar roof and battery wall maybe). I have a couple friends that have owned them for years and despite the basic aesthetics they are pretty rock solid cars. I mean, minimum to no maintenance. I'm yet to see one on a tow truck or on these of the road. They really have nothing to service. I know some body panel alignment issues are there but they ride very nice and are fast as hell. Also I am yet to see one with self inflicted front end damage. Now, @UtahJoe , you are one of my favorite people of all time but to call it ugly and soulless? Last car I saw you drive I think was a Ford Focus. I mean, if you were in a C7, a Jeep Wrangler or even a Taurus SHO...but christ, to compare a Tesla as lesser than a Ford Focus?! Come on man!

I am more of an end user of cars anyways. I don't buy new vehicles as you ALWAYS lose money on them unless they are a collector car. A car gets you from point A to point B(tsla does this very well, almost like a Toyota Corolla). I had the new vs used conversation with my older bro. I said buy a 2 year old truck and save 30%. He said it will break right after the warranty period. I said, who cares? You'll still have 30% of you $80k truck to repair it and it's most likely not going to cost anywhere near that.

excuse me...my focus cost $18,000....has gotten me 198,000 miles so far with absolutely nothing of significance breaking (thermostat housing gasket)...14 years old, still have not replaced ONE light bulb in the car...doesnt burn any oil...original clutch is still great...(Iggy got nearly 300k out of his) I can change any HVAC control without needing to scroll thru a tablet (3 dials is still the best system ever)...I can turn on my wipers without scrolling thru a tablet.....I have a clutch pedal and a tach...

Teslas dont require regular oil changes....but the rest of it is the same....(Brakes, rotating tires, etc)...I mean ok doesnt need spark plugs...but I have done 1 set of spark plugs in 14 years....not that complicated.

And yes...soul less....I have driven a Y and a 3....It was like driving my digital microwave oven around..the table controling everything is just terrible IMO. On top of the fact that they are HIDEOUS looking...my god...worst looking front end in the automotive world. They accelerated fast, but with no sound/feel...eh....Just did nothing for me.

Plenty of awesome electric cars out there...I like the Rivians...Teslas can go fuck a cat.

My point was that a Tesla kinda looks like a focus lol.
 
I have tracked civics and corvettes. you learn real quick that as the weight and performance increase, the tires, bushings, shocks and brakes ware out much faster. At 6800lbs, I am guessing the cyber truck kills the above very quickly.
