For those of you who ride an Ebike, do you see yourself going back to a non-ebike at any time aside from parks which may not allow them?
I know this is a personal preference and in some cases there are medical reasons (knees, joints, etc) that make an ebike the best way to get outside.
I am wondering if at this point in my life, money would be better spent on an ebike vs an newer non-ebike to get me out more often.

I'm not speaking for any other ebike rider other than myself but I didn't get an ebike because I had to, I got one because I want to. This is why I still have 2 analog bikes and one of them was purchased after I've had my ebike for over a year. I would be perfectly content with just analog bikes so far but I really enjoy riding an ebike because they're just so much fun. So not everyone with an ebike has it because of physical limitations but if you do and an ebike will allow you to ride again then it's a no-brainer. It will help you ride longer and more often.

I had knee issues that had me not riding like i would. After having ebike for about a month, i decided to hop on my pedal bike, other then the shock of no assist my knee proceeded to blow up like a pumpkin after the ride. I havent touched it since last March, thats not to say i wont give it another go. Honestly i dont miss it because as Tony says, i am having way more fun and the assist is just enough to not bother my knee. I doubt highly that i will ever buy another pedal bike. Just know the next ebike you buy will be outdated when you walk out the door 🤣

I apologize if I phrased it to seem that only those who have physical issues are riding. Sorry about that.
@tonyride you are a good example of what I was looking for. I tried one out a few years back and it was a blast. I can see keeping my old one for a while until I know I am set.
@mattybfat your point about value is well taken. That is also true of any bike/car/moto we all enjoy, but also the reason I want to make a good decision (even knowing it is old tech a year later).

@JerseyPete
I plan on getting one for the trail work and event work I do. Lugging a backpack with a couple batteries and a saw, or a trailer full of signs. I'm sure I'll use it on ebike rides, and maybe to ride with the the wildcat Wednesday group as I slow them down even in good shape for me.

I put in a couple hours at CR today on the fat bike. The guy on the ebike had to go out after we were done to finish his workout.

The other thing that I am looking at is the workout part of it. On my current bike I ride for about a hour and work up a sweat and cardio. It takes at least day to recover. If I get an ebike, I will go out more often and ride longer, getting a better work out and benefitting my health more.
In other words I can punish myself and force more riding and hope that I get better without harm, or ease into it with an ebike. Tough call.

On a completely separate note, when I got back to my truck at High Mtn after a ride, there was a cop there taking care of the vehicle in front of me. They had dialed 911 due to shortness of breath and being dizzy. They looked younger than me and were getting oxygen until EMS arrived.

To those who store their ebikes indoors to keep it out of the freezing temps in the garage/shed, do you still have it indoors or have you brought it back out given the warmer temps and no signs of freezing anytime soon?

Not that I don't trust Specialized to use a good quality battery, but if my bike caused my house to burn down, my wife would be really pissed. So it's out out of the house regardless of the temperature.

Well, I normally keep it in the garage which is attached to the rest of the house so if that goes in flames so will the house anyway.

Im garage bound, trust me next home will have outside basement entry. I thought of hooking the gas up for heat years ago because honestly that area is my man cave to fiddle fuck.

Anyways this how i keep our batteries warm with seed starter mats.

I had a full knee replacement in Dec. I think for a least a few months I'll be mainly e-bike to avoid overstressing my knee joint.

I'll throw a plug here for ORBEA as they now have a bunch of the rise models on closeout. In addition they are including a free range extender. In some of the models you can also get a custom paint job for no extra charge.

The 23 rise is not the exact same bike, but its also not different enough to overlook the discount on the 22 models.

My acoustic mtb only comes out for downhill parks now.
Any time I rode it I kept thinking to myself, "this would be so much more fun with the ebike. What was I thinking!"
I do have an acoustic road bike and road biking is more of an exercise thing for me. If I didn't have that I would probably throw in some more acoustic MTB rides.
