Is the inflated Bike market finally crashing?

The used 'everything outdoor' market is definitely easing up - bikes included. The problem is many people purchased these items new at retail premium. They paid top dollar so they're going to try and sell high to recover some of that. I suggest you wait it out @Takedown, until the new year. As belts tighten and people see their energy bills go up 40-60% this winter (yeah, I'm freaking out 😕 ), I suspect many will look to sell at whatever offer they can get.
Agree with you A.S., just have to wait for expectations to come back down to earth....when that will be is another question, just going to have to be patient.

Specialized just dropped the price of the $6400 2022 STJEvo to $4700 and change - you’d never see that drop from Santa Cruz.
Maybe that’s a sign or maybe new model coming ?

As I said above. It is more likely that they hoarded too many bikes through the selling season and now they stuck with them. If they were introducing soemthing it wouldn't just be the Expert on sale.

I asked the Ibis guy at the bike festival what was up with the sales. I was expecting a non-answer but he honestly said they just ordered way too many bikes during Covid, demand is down, have no room for them and the bikes are getting a very minor refresh so they have way too many "old" models to get rid of before the next batch of "new" frames show up.

I doubt they are the only ones.

I hope it's not crashing quite yet. I've got 2 bikes going up for sale soon...
It's definitely softer for sure, and this may be the beginning of a recession which means money will become scarcer, especially cash so I would consider selling your bikes sooner than later.

If the recession is deeper and longer similar to 2008, I wouldn't be surprised if a Pro Closet doesn't go out of business, they must be sitting on a ton of overpriced bikes that are going to be hard to sell in a downturn.

Nope. Both 29 full suspension bikes here. Mach 4 SL and epic.

wait - this is a change in MAP vs MSRP? (which might usually be zero)
you could always sell it for whatever you want?

BAU in many markets.
