Strictly METAL

Snot were one of the few bands in that genre that I liked, they were onto something, it sucks that Lynn Strait got killed in a random wreck.

For better or worse, Korn invented the genre that got coined Nu-Metal. They may not have used samples, but zero rap influence?!? how can you not hear the hip-hop influence? Go listen to Chi.

BTW, not really a Korn fan, but one of the best live shows I've ever seen (Prince being the best live show I ever saw), with Pantera a close second to Prince.

It's sort of along the lines of Meshuggah being the inventors of Djent. They are their own band by a long shot and don't even slightly fit in with a genre they've "created"

I can only imagine that Prince, Dime and Vinnie playing together would be awesome.

I thought Periphery created Djent? Meshuggah to me were always just plain heavy, not very djenty.

All blues-based players so, an unlikely combo that would probably sound amazing.

Apparently we will be getting a "Pantera" reunion. I take no issue with this other than they're calling themselves Pantera, but then again Phils always been a bit of a dickhead.

I dont like Ozzy.
Anyone going to Testament/Exodus/Death Angel this weekend?
Would have been sick to see Exodus on the tour they just came off, they had Brandon Ellis (the black dahlia murder) filling in for lead guitar. He lives in Morristown, insanely talented and cool dude. Never seen Death Angel live but Testament is always fun.

Brandon Ellis lives in Motown? He definitely elevated the band. I hear they're bringing Brian back to sing, but not play guitar. Is Brandon staying on to play?

Pantera at least has 2 members, unlike all of the Megadeth cover bands featuring Dave Mustaine over the years.

Pantera was Dime and Vin, its not Pantera without them. Dave is the Sadam Hussein of lead singers, he is Megadeth, its all his, and everything happens his way or it doesn't happen at all, which explains why he can't keep anyone in that band for more than a couple of albums.

This is why I'm going to see Cavelara Conspiracy and not Sepultura next month.

Yep, i was determined to run into him when I lived there but dude is nonstop on tour. The full band is still on board with Brian taking over vocals. I haven’t really heard if this is a permanent thing or they are just doing some memorial type shows. Either way it’s cool. Trevor would be proud.

That would be a fantastic show. Ive seen Overkill like 157 times, Exodus and Testament a handful of times each, first time seeing Death Angel. Pretty excited.

An interesting story. My old Band rented rehearsal studio space from DD in Red Bank for about 10 years. They would rehearse at different times than us but they were always hanging around. Cool dudes, except when we were late on rent 😀

The last time I saw them was waaaaaay back on the Years of Decay tour. What a great fuckin album.

I think that Bobby Blitz lives in Ringwood.
