Who wants to build a Bike Park?

I get the feeling that the owners (state and local governments) of most of the multi-use parks we ride don't want big jumps and drops being built with hikers and horseback riders around.
That being said, JH isn't really a park in the traditional sense and could allow cooler features to be made. And as stated earlier, those paved paths running through the park allow for easy access for machinery and workers. Me personally, I love those paved paths when I'm exhausted and just want to get back to the car!
 
Isn't this what they basically did at High Bridge?
In theory yes, however it is very difficult to get this type of trail building perfect the 1st time. After reading up on building these types of flow trails the builder is always going back to fix, modify and perfect lines.

I have heard the contractor who built High Bridge is going back to fine tune the trail.

You seem to forget we have 1000 acres that have an open invite to build all the machined built trails. Save the money to buy the machine.

There is property in Kinnelon called the Waughaw Mountain Greenway that is made up of Kinnelon and County owned land, that has been described as:
"Currently this 306-acre park is undeveloped. The future use will be for an Off-road Bicycling and hiking trail system. Future access to and parking for the park will be developed off of Brook Valley Road, Kinnelon Borough" on the County website.

I had reached out to MCPC a couple of years ago and had been told that they plan on hiring a company to develop the mtb trails. they recently purchased another tract of land that will act as an access road/parking area. I often pop into this property and ride the quad trails and old woods roads, last week it appears that an earth mover had gone over some of the quad trails and removed some big downed trees. I reached out this week to the MCPC (maybe the wrong people) to see whats up. no answer yet, but i have offered up the mtb community in general and suggested partnership with JORBA... this place could be fun and would take pressure off of the Tourne.
 
So, we have a bike park in High Bridge now. Why would we go through all the effort and approval BS somewhere else in our fun state? Why not just expand and improve in High Bridge where the town is already on our side? (yes, i know it's not private and it's not close to all parts of NJ)

How about a Rays in NJ? With the unfortunate closures of many stores I think converting a KMart 🙂cough) on eagle rock and prospect in west Orange is a great place.

I really love that idea in theory....the old toy r us building in flanders that they closed would have been big enough to house all of dickerson mine....but cost per sqft, taxes in NJ, liability, I highly doubt it happens....but it would be pretty awesome if it somehow did.
 
My goal as well. FYI NEMBA purchased land so they could build what they like. Of course they're only 10x the size of JORBA.

The Burnt Meadow Mountain side of Jungle will be a lot of road conversions. I hope to make them flowy, but nothing on the scale of Kingdom. I have yet to secure permission to use mechanized equipment. But I do plan on asking.

Yes there is a big learning curve in building these things, but there's also a huge shortcut. Professional trail builders. Pre-covid I wanted to pitch bringing in pros to fix the bottom 200' of Defiance Road as it meets Lot C in Ringwood. We would fix that horrible erosion for the park put in a nice flowy berm or two. We would use this as a training exercise for JORBA and more importantly park personnel. Hopefully the park would become comfortable with the use of mechanized equipment and we and the park folks could tackle other spots. At the very least it would show the possibilities with mechanized equipment to park administrators maybe open doors around the state. Wouldn't hurt to humblebrag JORBA a bit either.
