RadioLab - Limits

This should be required listening for those of us who train & race. I know we have discussed this before, in particular @Delish and myself. Every time I listen I find some of the stuff in there just fascinating.

Need to catch up.

Freakonomics, why do people keep having children?

Even a brutal natural disaster doesn't diminish our appetite for procreating. This surely means we're heading toward massive overpopulation, right? Probably not.

HISTORY ON FIRE!
Daniele Bolleli, he's the F'ing man. Love his stuff. He does the Iceman found in Italy/Austria

This episode focuses on one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the late 20th century: the oldest, fully preserved human body ever found. The man emerged from the ice in the Alps over 5,000 years after his death. The more archaeologists discovered about him, the more haunting the mystery of his fate became. This is a tale of murder, Neolithic battles, the possibly European origins of acupuncture, the best mountain climber who ever lived, Brad Pitt’s tattoo, and one of the oldest cold c

I met Lois in her 83rd year. We talk about her loves, her passions, some of her famous friends, and reflect on special moments from a very special life.

The biggest problem in the universe. Love these.

Its your old pal Dick again, back in the saddle with a post full of yucks and a pen full of is. Is Daylight Saving Time the biggest problem in the universe?

Who invented Daylight Saving Time? If you guessed Hitler, you would be factually incorrect, but you wouldn’t be wrong. Daylight Saving Time is the biggest sham perpetrated on the civilized world since those elongating dick pills swarmed late night TV ads in the 90s. We were all curious about them. There’s no shame in that. Imagine a world where you can drive home from work in the pitch black, feel hungover and jet lagged even though you didn’t do anything fun, and crash your car way more and als

OH SHIT GRAHAM HANCOCK on Chris Ryan's Tangentially speaking.
I'm in love with Graham, so good.
Slaves didn't build the pyramid, it's not a tomb(or), buck the system and conventional thinking Graham!

Graham Hancock became a world famous bestselling author with Fingerprints of the Gods, a book that questioned the mainstream narrative concerning the origins of civilization—among many other things. Now, he's just published a follow-up, Magicians of the Gods, bringing recent discoveries to his controversial, compelling narrative.

Listened to this one on my way to work this morning and really enjoyed it.

Yesterday I geeked out and listened to Maggots: Good For Healing Wounds, Turns Out - found it interesting. I've heard about using leeches in science/medicine but not maggots.

Oh no, "thinks you should know"
Do I want to go down this rabbit hole? i'm almost caught up on my podcasts and can get back to my books. BUT THERE ARE THINGS I SHOULD KNOW! But I want to read my book. crap.

@gtluke - don't you understand that by listing everything you listen to, people are going to gloss over all of it?

Just give us the best stuff. I tell you this because I care.

I know :(
I need to work on a better way to do this. I'll try and come up with something.
For now, everyone listen to Graham Hancock, he's on tour promoting his new book.

Norm says they way I did it last week sucks, so I'll try a condensed version. I can't put all the links in, too much time.
I'll try and make notes on each episode, if anything is of interest I'd be happy to expand on it and follow up with links.

HERE WE GO
Okay I went nuts on the Freakonomics this week. I moved a lot of wood, and I installed flooring in a spare bedroom. Had a lot of free ear time :)

Opie and Anthony Podcast.
The Hateful Eight Special, actors and Tarintino in studio!
Accelerated 7-31-15, more great weird medicne and Jimmy Norton!

#737 Lance Armstrong - Most cyclists know too much about cyclists and Lance Armstrong to really enjoy this one. It's not as in debth as "we" would like, but we aren't the general audiance. Though @stb222 seemed to like it.
#738 Molly Crabapple - Man this chick is annoying.
UFC Recap - Brendan Schaub & Eddie Bravo - There was actually not UFC going on in this one. Very little. Talked a lot about how it's now becoming a serious discussion if Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain
