Today it is all about the tagging.
@jmanic - That does remind me of some of my business trips where I would let the company buy me a pound of coffee as part of my dinner. Going to Seattle in 3 weeks and this may need to happen again. Technically you're supposed to give them the itemized receipt but they really don't care on the financial level I play at.
@jmanic - why is it a good thing to have some awe, but a bad thing to be full of awe?
@jmanic - my point system is a base-100^positive_reinforcement/-\system where you attain 100 points for eating everything the right way. It does not penalize you for eating other things. My philosophy is that if I eat a really healthy/robust diet in any given day, I will be less likely to eat shit through the day. So far I have found this to be the case. I am going to be 50 in a few years, I don't need the system to tell me I can't eat a little piece of chocolate during the day. That idea can eat a dick. Incidentally, what is the Weight Watchers point value for eating a dick?
@jmanic - if you have half a cake at home and eat the whole thing, should you then go buy another cake and eat half of it to make it like nothing happened?
@jmanic - you are right, I was thinking of the New Pornographers but when I googled it, some results came up so I assumed it was what I was thinking of. As it turns out, I guess obviously, I am familiar with none of either band's music.
@fidodie - today I was informed by my boss that as of 1/1 the product is mine. I will be the official Product Owner of the tool. I told my boss I am taking the tool in a totally different direction and will be marketing it for the Amish user base.
@MadisonDan - today was not as super-happy of a family day but it's more about one of my parental units than anything. Without getting too into it, this is why retirement is bad for some people. They sit around on the couch all day and get upset about shit that isn't real. If I ever get like that please someone put me out of my misery. On the flip side, the tres is now up AND decorated.
@2Julianas - I'll just put this out there. Dinner on Saturday the 8th then maybe you guys crash here and we can go skiing on Sunday the 9th. IDK where yet and maybe it's a stretch. But they are calling for snow on the 8th (which I guess could spike our dinner plans) so skiing may be a better bet than riding. If that doesn't work, our next foray will be in Canada over Xmas. I know, you'll be in Okinawa or whatever that place that starts with an O is.
@graveyardman67 - on that note, D wanted to invite you guys up to Tremblant over Xmas. I know there is like 0.0000002 chance you can go but before I forget, there you go.
@UtahJoe - I hope you are keeping track of these dates.
@Mitch - 100% have to step on that. Totally unacceptable.
@Magic - I agree the shoes make Mitch look hip but I think there is a point in time where the shoes go from making you look old-and-hip to totally-out-of-it. No worries, Mitch, we'll let you know when you jump the shark.
@MissJR - after reading you piss & moan about snow in Morristown for 10 years I don't think I want to be inside a 200 mile radius of the day you try to learn to snowboard.
@pooriggy - please don't break your spatula anymore.
@seanrunnette - I was on Zwift today which you know. I woke up this morning at 5am because my goddamn arm hurt so much from the shot yesterday and shortly after waking up my mind went into overdrive about all the work I needed to do. So I was in a half daze by the time I got on the bike at 4:00 and sort of just rode and played it by ear. I was going to do that 2.5 minute hill repeat just out of Downtown Watopia but I did 1 (where I broke my PR) then decided to try for the Hilly Loop. I hit the climb a second time (where I broke the PR again) then broke the full loop PR. This is a weird place for me right now because I did not feel very good at all today but I am able to knock off these PRs still. I guess this speaks to my fitness but I need to make sure I sleep enough.
@ChrisG - I finished 2 books this week,
Britt-Marie Was Here and
You Are Not So Smart. Totally different but both worth the read. I liked
A Man Called Ove better than Britt-Marie but they are both good. If you have not read Ove, I would add that to your list. Not So Smart is non-fiction and I think anyone who cares about their own thinking patterns and how they see the world should read it. Absolutely fascinating. Great bathroom reader as it is essentially 48 standalone chapters about why your internal dialogue about how the world works and how you think is totally wrong. Bathroom reader for you, not Iggy. Iggy still be all about the Mad Libs.
@Dominique - hi, just tagging you because I should tag you too. As you well know, your parents are coming tomorrow so we'll have a busy weekend. Today I hit 100 points on my JManic-Approved-Jenny-Craig-Wuz-Here system and while I may come close tomorrow (since we control dinner the day they arrive) it will go to total shit on Saturday & Sunday. As Dan says, chocolate everything/anything. It's ok, I have had a good week.
@Commissioner Rankings of Make Believe - for real, you love this name. I'm going to float this until Monday.
@shrpshtr325 - just tagging people who comment. Here's a funny thing. I just realized you are Bill H which is a name I have seen kick around forever, even going back to the All-A-Muchy 50k days when you pulled a GPS link from my account on Garmin Connect or something - I think it wa a ride I did with Brett (
@hardtale70 maybe?). I am trying to remember the details but I think you mistakenly re-uploaded it, and it said we rode together. Again, details are foggy but I was wondering who the hell Bill H was back then. Anyway, the name pops up sporadically over the years and literally just the other day when you did this race with Steph or whatever, it clicks and I am like...holy shit this is the same guy? The details of that last paragraph are probably 9% accurate.
That's enough. I have absolutely no point today.
@Carson - I didn't forget about you but you don't say much anymore.
