You Ghetto?

I think it depends a lot on your tires. When I run lower than 30psi I'll burp occasionally too (usually only in the rocks) and I weigh 185.
I run panaracer fire XC. They have REALLY light side walls so they tend to fold easy around turns and pinched between rocks if the pressure is too low. Consequently, I run about 32 psi normally.

Thanks for the compliment but your wrong. Gordo/ardent 2.4 rigid up front at 18psi flow/whatever rear at 22 psi 220lbs. I havent had a burp in like forever.

you can run less pressure on higher volume tyres doe just ask those fat bike guys how many times they get asked how many psi are you running

Thats a neat recipe, Im running gorilla 1" tape, cut stems from old tubes and stans sealant on maxxis ignitors. Just put some extra sealant when you first convert over to help seal the extra holes.

Fwiw, Enve recommends Gorilla tape to seal their UST rims, and it works really well. I needed two rounds in the rear wheel, one in the front, and sealed everything without sealant. Gorilla tape is more pliant than the Stan's tape and lighter than a split tube.

is this a test to seat/seal? and add sealant later?

Effectively. UST require no sealant, so this is a simple test that everything is in order as the sealant is technically for puncture sealing only. Remove the core and pop sealant in after.
