Will a Gx derailleur work with a Nx shifter?

Destroyed my Sram NX 12spd derailleur yesterday, can’t find a replacement. Wondering if a GX derailleur will work without having to replace the shifter too? It’s only 6 months old

Check your hanger alignment.

Anything that destroys a derailleur has almost certainly bent the hanger out of plane...in which case that shiny new GX will shift like poo.
