who's out riding today?

I am very interested in the RaymondBlvd,Truck1/9,FishHouseRoad/RT7 segment. Other than some wrong turns how bad was that segment in terms of danger with auto/truck traffic? I live in Plainfield and work in Jersey City and would like to ride to work once per week in the summer and that segment was the bit I had my doubts about... (were some of the bridges rides in a ped walkway?)

thanks in advance.

yesterday was my first attempt to ride from my last drop to home.
so i coulnd't give you much info about it.
x-ing bridges is fine, only after that getting into raymond blvd is kinda dangerous as there's no shoulder,so to do dat i took the opposite ped walk way to cross safely into raymond blvd. don't take 1-9 truck route or rt7 (unless you're willing to walk)

roads condition, was bad(debris and glass) once you're trying to get into newark downtown.

so,.next week i will pick the safest/possible route for you to follow (next wesnesday) and will give you more accurate details.

yesterday i was on my MTB so it's ok.

much obliged!!

englewood and manhattan catched my attention, thanks again!

I am doing the Cranbury 200km this Sunday... I also will do the 300km this year but not the 400 or 600km... I am not trying to qualify for PBP or anything but next summer I am doing all 4 distances

The longer distances are mostly mental imo....

Good luck. You should be reviewing saddles.

Thanks Norm... This would be a good opportunity to add something of substance to the board (seriously)🙂... I will take some photos and do a write up on the 2 rides... I will forewarn you though I am not much the writer type and what ever I do write in a journal is dry

Coolo.

Looking fwd to it. I won't attempt my ride we have some more hours of daylight ( May? ) so I can try inbound or outbound when it is not dark ( need two hours to do so with a safety margin ) Might dry-run it on oa weekend on the MTB and switch to the cross bike if the road surface is not completely horrible. Having a 30 mile (one way) or 60 mile (both ways) Wednesday will add a whole new dimension to my riding....
