Who owns the most working bikes? Answer Fire Lord Jim 27

1....how many do you need?

Shoot, I think I have too many bikes:

2 Road Bikes (rim brakes)
3 HT 29er Mountain (Fisher Superfly, Fisher Paragon, Custom Steel)
1 HT 29er Singlespeed (Fisher Superfly)
1 Fat Bike (Surley Pugsley)
2 Cyclocross (rim brake)
1 DJ (26” Norco)
+ enough parts to build one other mountain bike, including a Surley Karate Monkey Frame and fork)

I seem to better at buying bikes, then selling bikes. Anyone want to buy a road or cyclocross bike in Size Small?

5 - For me, this is the perfect quiver. Only thing missing is maybe a road bike if i cared about (and had time to) stay in shape.
In order of ride frequency:

Trail FS - '18 Pivot Mach 5.5

Trail HT - '16 custom Specialized Pitch

DJ - '09 Giant STP 0

Whoever said this thread needed pics was right. Edited my original post to add them. Good day for staring at bikes.

*Moots Vamoots (road)
*LeMond Fillmore (fixed gear road)
*Seven Sola S (SS mtb)
*Pivot Trail 429 (FS mtb)
*Focus Mares CX (cross)
*Cannondale CX 9 (cross)
*All City Thunderdome (track)
*Sunday Soundwave (bmx)
*PK Ripper Super Elite XL (bmx)
*Raleigh 3-speed town bike (circa 1971, all original except tires & tubes)

All of these have seen/will continue to see tons of use, with the exception of the PK Ripper, which I bought at the end of last winter with hopes of some bmx track time in 2019, but that never happened. In the meantime, Mrs. G will ride it at Ray's this winter.

MOST ARE POTENTIALLY FOR SALE (except the Mukluk, Diverge, XTC, 69er).

5 right now:
Primer trail bike
Megatower gravity/trail bike
Tazer DJ indoor park bike
20" BMX (mostly used for indoor park)
Colnago road bike

My Vassago is more or less rideable, although I need to fix the rear brake. Eventually my Grade will get rebuilt with Campy drivetrain bits, some TRP brakes and new wheels (that I need to talk to jdog about...)

"non-working" - quite a few, although most are just waiting for a tear-down and part-out: Yeti Lawwill, old BMX bike, a few others. Selling stuff is such a PITA these days.

But that’s the go anywhere - do anything bike..... so you’re covered . 🙂

Nah- I'm a the point where I a singe speed mtb makes a ton of sense. Like all of us I'm on limited time and I have just a little window now where my son will want me around a lot. I have to capture that and cant think of a better way than mountain biking together.

Relative to the thread- he will start off on flats.

I expect he will actually start on a strider.... 😉

I don't recall seeing the scapel, when's the last time you ride her? Also what's the brown bike

It’s a trigger not a scalpel and about a year ago. My son rode it in May so it’s been great value proposition 😉. The brown one is the surly cross check (I scraped off the decals) frame I got from @jimvreeland when he upgraded to “Rusty”.

Oddly enough I’m about to reconfigure that one to be a hipster flip-flop “SS/Fixie”. Bull horn bars and all.

Everyone needs a fixie not to ride. ?
