What have you done to your bike today?

Mini tune up for the Epic...already got 700 miles on this bike in 4 months. Was getting a little rattle from the back end that ended up being the caliper bolts worked loose. Threw on a drop of blue loctite, should eliminate that.

  • Clean/air up dropper
  • True wheels (minor)
  • Torque pivot bolts
  • Add sealant

Already did a 50 hour on the fork last month but need to do the shock this weekend and probably replace the grips.

Well, for anyone that wants to know about the vorsprung smash pot spring system works on the Zeb….. it works so well I tore a whole in my rear tire pounding through a rock field in a alpine/rockley ride. Seems you need to up tire pressure when your fork work like a piece of suspension.

I was watching Greg Callaghan's Ibis Ripmo bike check video and he started going through the parts and tools he carries. He mentioned his Wolf Tooth quick link tool and it reminded me I needed to reload my own tool with quick links after using mine to fix Tom's bike a few rides ago.

One Shimano 12spd link and one Transmission link. Granted I don't think I've ever heard of anyone breaking a Transmission chain, but good to be prepared. Amusingly, I ordered two links... but in reality I ordered two cards of links... so now I have 8 Transmission links. Oh well... it's not like they'll go bad sitting in the parts drawer...

i know its not always an option but i save the links when i replace chains, i figure a lightly used link is better than a busted chain, plus $$savings.

Rebuilt the Warakin after those bikepacking things. Went back to the Rudy Ultimate, which is a lot nicer than what I was testing. Snagged a pair of these vaporware 50c Tracers from a shop in Cali. Waxed the chain being I don’t plan on really using this bike for real until Fall.

All I do is neglect my bikes so I can work on my daughter’s bikes. Just installed new brake pads on her under-used trailbike, and lubed the chain and did a light tune.

Happy she has elected to take the trailbike rather than an XC bike to Kingdom Trails for a week at NICA Camp.

@Pearl needs a better look at that work/storage space.
No one should look into my garage right now. It's such a $hit-$how at the moment. I get anxiety every time I set foot in there.

Re-working the garage and "purging" is on my very long to do list. I'm great at accumulating stuff, but have difficulty parting with things. I sold two BMX race frames last weekend though....baby steps 🙂

You and me both... my house looks like a bike shop, auto parts store and a music store all exploded in 600 square feet.

I've been trying to purge as I need to get the house ready for major renovations and repairs, but the amount of work I've created for myself is overwhelming...
