What have you done to your bike today?

I’m not sure if I was doing something wrong, but I had to repack my wheels mfg BB after what seemed like 8 or 9 rides. Is this normal? I was pretty good with cleaning out the old grease and repacking fresh stuff. I had the right bearing covers too.

Anyway I got tired of doing that so I swapped in CK BB. Fingers crossed that this one is less maintenance needy.

I’ve been using BBs from Hope with good luck of late. They seem to love wet weather in 🇬🇧

I was thinking of Hope. They were cheaper. But CK have been great for me in the past. I wish they still used that grease injector tool to repack though. That was such a nice easy way to give it quick service.

What grease do you use when servicing BB bearings?

I’ve just swapped better bearings into those and then they’re fine. Those blue bearings last like a month.
 
After many wet races this year in the MASS series, most of the rotating items on my IndyFab SS were sounding a bit crunchy.

Replaced the complete Hope Pro2 EVO SS freehub assembly acquired from Ebay for less money and labor if I had replaced the bearings, pawls and springs myself. Will thoroughly clean the old 1 and use for backup.

The XTR BB was about 6yrs old, so installed a new 1.

Put on a 17t cog to go 2:1 with the 34t chainring. Using the bike Monday for a planned 56+ mile "Triple Lindy" ride to celebrate v5.6 of me, 3 local parks via road and bike paths.
