Found a pizzelle (actual) iron at a thrift store s year or so ago, and was motivated by a stake bag of them to break it out/refinish it.
It had a fine fuzz of rust on it (first stage of bluing), so I scrubbed to take anything off that would come off, then slung it on the stove to heat it up. A few hours later, I took it for a test spin [flip]:

It has 6 scenes: the partridge above, a vineyard, four-leaf clover, holly cluster, spiral shell, and berry cluster.
