Also why the F do some of these people knock on the door or ring the bell when they drop off a package? No point....

i suspect this is a 'best practices' thing to keep the packages from getting stolen. not everyone has a phone that goes off when something is delivered.

And what if no one is home? It's definitely not standard, maybe 5% of drivers do it. It'll certainly push your buttons if you have an infant and a dog in the home.

ordered an oversized item on amazon last week - they have a delivery scheduling system.
i picked this morning from 6-9. at 10:00 i called the shipper - they informed me that they had
rescheduled it from 11-2, when they would be in my town, and tried to call me (they didn't, and they have my email)
it just arrived. 5:35. Classic!!

WTF, it takes 5 days to get from Pensacola to Jacksonville?
Already behind by 2 chapters of reading, @rick81721 this a reason why I'll never move to FL, is everything moving that slow down there?

Not usually. Orders from Amazon get here about the same as NJ. Regular mail seems to take longer, but that may be more a function of the local community here and how the zip codes are assigned. I do notice that my coffeeforless kcup orders take a few days longer to arrive

yea theyve been doing that on and off for a couple months now, however every time they actually take the picture its not where my delivery instructions told them to leave it, funny.

Maybe i should start complaining about that.(i really dont want packages left on my front door step, at least the back doorstep is out of sight from the street)

Amazon delivery does the picture thing. If you track the package on the Amazon site while its in transit, they show you where the driver is on the map, and how many deliveries there are before yours.

Awesome, now the porch pirates can follow the deliveries from home, and decide which house to hit.
