Tymor Wrap-Up Thread

There is about 20 lbs of mudd in the bed of my truck this morning from our 4 bikes we carried back there! That picture of your pedal reminded me one of the most frustrating things I had out there was issues trying to clip back in. Wow that was alot of mud out there!

Luke jinxed me by saying "you are going to have a mechanical sooner or later"

So the rear brake on my paragon died in the parking lot about 30min before the race. (Thank you very much Jim for attempting to repair it). They have never worked right since I got the bike and I was just hoping they would last one race since I ordered a new set of marta sl's. I figured it would not be a good idea to decend the super muddy hills with only front brakes. Thankfully luke was there taking pictures and let me borrow his epic. Unfortunetly on the big climb I snapped his chain. I didn't have a quick link to fix it so I had to wrestle with the pin I did have for 45 minutes before I got it fixed. Got back into the race in dead last, wound up 16th in my class. Just glad I did not DNF.

To top it off, I walk into my office this morning and see my set of marta's sitting on my desk. UPS dropped them off on friday at 6 after I left. Oh the irony.

Still a fun day. By far the most mud I have had to race in. Good thing i had a loner bike 😀

With the exeption of going in blind I had a good feeling before the race.😎 As the race went on and after I was miserable.:drooling:😡 I should have warmed up more. I was stuck behind some @$$**%!@!!! for about a mile the first lap😡. I must have said passing 13 times and everytime the guy wouldnt move an inch! Tryed to sneek by him in the brush and fell.😡 I was so pissed I flew up right behind him and screamed MOVE!!:2guns: and he moved off the trail:getsome: But in all the bitterness I came out in 2nd (only 3 people in my class)

My son was telling me the same thing, he says I told some guy 10 times to pass he would let me go. And then finally he says I cannot let you go.

I properly taught him how to fair warning to pass. at least 10 feet before the pass "rider on the left or right". I am sure he used the proper procedure but could not go through.

Well thats why there is cat3, thats how people learn. On the other hand riders should be considerate.

It makes a huge difference for young racers because they dont have the adult persistence and confidence to pursue passing. And adding some muddy and tight single tracks dont help it either. This was an experince for him and also for me. I will put mud tires before the muddy races too.

Were you out on trails with him by chance? There was one father out there trailing his son and actually motivating me down the trails. If that was you thank you very much you came up on me at a pretty low point in my ride and it was helpful to here "you are doing great just keep going don't worry".

Good for you! You got to keep going unless you or the bike are unfixable!

Lots of stories about bikes crapping out before the race started. Were they scared??

I myself was about to get into the car and leave when hubby says he needs 10 min to fix my bike. It had a nice bubble in the rear tire. Glad I had the same fabulous Larsen TT's on my back-up bike, ready to swipe! Thank Hon!

Don't forget to call out 'on your left' - it's more than just a courtesy! Check the rules. I know you guys know this, but I am always surprised at how many ppl don't do it.

I always call it out...it doesn't mean they hear it though 🙄

One of the highlights of the day! Fat man in a little jacket! :hysterica:hysterica
