Trail dogs “Etiquette” and state Law

Is that who I think it is? Where did you find the actual footage?

Nah, @mattybfat knows I'm joking. I'm a recently converted dog person coming from cats, I guess with time you get very sensitive about a subject you love, so not being there it's easier to look at it with more detachment (plus I rarely tend to take things seriously, even though it may not transpire).

I do get the @ibike73 concern though, as I mentioned it would have been bad enough even without dogs if I got it right.

Karen
You came on social media to complain and scold people who break the law. That's the definition of a Karen just in case you need understanding, then you didn't like the results and began the insults with the post above. We happened to be neighbors by rural standards and ride the same parks so you know coming across another rider is pretty rare, one of the reasons we live out here.
We also have met though I doubt you remember but I'm that very large handsome guy everyone loves, who rides always with my dog in the same parks as you. I would bet more locals know my dogs name then yours not that means anything. Life is short, dont sweat the small stuff most importantly control what you can and don't be a Karen, lol...
I do remember at Marty’s.

As for being a Karen. How many times have you called me out or quoted me in this thread? Asked me to confront you? Basically told me it was my fault due to a Strava segment. When I voiced a concern your response was a picture of your dog with a silly response. But I guess you are right, I must be the Karen.

I don't get this at all. He's not complaining about someone having a dog off leash in a park where it's prohibited. He's complaining about that negligence resulting in him crashing which could have resulted in serious injury. Totally different, not Karenish by any stretch of the imagination. Seems some dog people are butt hurt over this - waaaah!
wow, i can't believe im saying this, but i agree with rick

You know what it's all good, your right I shouldn't have responded, I been pretty good at not hitting send and keeping my opinions, well to myself. I slipped. I'm sure we will meet again, now that you seen my dog say HI though she will probably ignore you because she's got other things on her mind then this silliness. FYI she will NOT be on a leash, I will take any responsibility for her because of it. Ride on!!!

Trail dog comes up to me and is cool, we cool. Trail dog chases me or anything else remotely considered aggressive towards me or my group it gets kicked or beaten. Immediately. Hopefully the owner learns their lesson.

I did give your post a thumbs up. I really wanted to give it a handshake but it was not an option.

I am a dog lover and owner, however I had two instances of off leash dogs attacking my dog with the owner watching. Needless to say, I had a sore foot for a couple days after each. There are bad dogs and there are bad owners. Just so happens that the OP was referring to a bad owner, as the dogs did not attack him in any way. The owner was 100% in the wrong and quite honestly, would be held liable for your injuries if you took it that far, especially with a gopro rolling. And after acting like he did, I 100% would have quickly snapped a pic and called the DEP, hoping that there were park police nearby. Absolute POS owner.

@ibike73 pretty clear case that the owner of the dogs was in the wrong here. I can respect the perspective of letting people be “free” in the parks, but it obviously becomes an issue when you impact others trying to do the same. Another example of someone being hyper focused on their experience and being not respectful of others.

Same situation. My lab Sadie will ignore most other dogs but doesn’t like when another dog is all up in her butt (literally). She won’t and has never lunged at another dog but she has growled, which in turn made other dogs lunge and attack her. If your fucking dog likes to get up in other dogs faces and isn’t playful and submissive then it need to be kept on a leash. To be safe, I leash Sadie up when I see other dogs coming up the trail.

I get the OP's frustration in his scenario. Personally, I slow down and give a smile to any pooch I see on the trail but maybe he didn't have enough site view for that.
