Except science. Science is all science all the time.
Why does science break the I before e rule?
Figures

Significantly less masking in San Diego. Signs indicate that unvaccinated should wear them.
Will check Tijuana later

The Canadian meth manufacturers must be going nuts. I expect that it will happen before there 21st.

@Norm - will they allow re-entry to US if you and the kids go up next week?

Trudeau made their decision 2 weeks ago. Why we didn't just immediately respond with "ditto" is baffling.

Just came back from the Jr. Olympics in Jacksonville, FL. The USATF ran a shit-show of a meet, most poorly run meet we have ever experienced by a huge margin. I expect it to be the new super-spreader event once all of the unvaccinated get home, incubate, and spread it.

The policy in my office is now, effectively, "You are required to come in to the office two days a week to sit in your cubicle and dial in to MS Teams meetings while wearing a mask".

LOL. I think that is going to be the case for a lot of offices. Someone I am close with is an HR executive and is more stressed than I have ever seen. There is pressure from their leadership to get people in the office, but enforcing whatever they come up with is impossible. People just don’t go in.

My company was supposed to announce some now COVID policy on Tuesday, but they cancelled it at the last minute. I’m curious. But luckily for me, my manager has told us to stay home as long as we want And only come in when we absolutely need to.

so far this has been the message for me too, there are rumors that Oct will be starting up at 2 days/week in the office, but we will see if the retract on that one with the way things are going.

Not for long big boy. Mandates a' comin. Our stores are requiring masks come Monday and the home office is officially back on masks starting today in common areas.

Yay.

Newsflash - I saw people last year in nj during the height of the pandemic not wearing masks in stores. Now with so many vaccinated, there will be many more following suit. Masks in stores is silly anyways, the risk of transmission is very low even if unvaccinated. The only people wearing masks in stores will be those already vaccinated (except kids) which means the "mandate" will do nothing.

Now workplace is a different story - hanging out with the same people all day - risk is much higher.

Stores can definitely not let you in if they choose. Is it really worth making a stink over? Nah. It's not a huge deal to me even if I don't think I really need a mask. Their business, their rules. It is what it is. Shop elsewhere or put on a mask for a minute or two.

I 100% will voluntarily mask up at a concert or indoor sporting event. Much higher risk as you said.
