If it hits FL though, half the population will be wiped out because 3/4 of the population is a high risk category

One would think so but historically, the death rate here due to influenza is half that of the rest of the US. Hawaii and NY have some of the highest death rates.

The timing of this is pretty bad for me. Supposed to be putting our house on the market next month (the virus can’t help the market), and my dad is trying to get a lung transplant. He is pretty isolated but he wouldn’t survive the virus. He is also believes its media hype, so I need to drill it into him that it’s not a joke.
Interesting, I am planning to do the same. I'm wondering the impact to the housing mark. I'll definitely be watching this closely.

i was just sent an email from my boss to make sure all laptops are up-to-date and that there are no issues logging in remotely.

time for me to take back the MILK EGGS BREAD mentality and start stocking up... at least on ice cream and cookie dough.

We're actually supposed to be flying out to Phoenix soon for a week long trip. I'm not one to be all EGGS MILK BREAD about stuff, but we're legit concerned that there will be an issue here and that flights will be cancelled. We're holding off reserving Airbnbs just in case. The Louvre was closed yesterday over concerns (I couldn't find how long they'll be closed) so I'm guessing more tourist attractions around the world will follow. But I'm hoping they can't close the grand canyon... At least not until I get to see it first.

Wasn't the closure because employee protest? Wish that would fly here you'll just see a bunch of people made examples of and stores run by skeleton crews

yes... employee protest... but i can see that happening at a lot of tourist attractions.... you're talking about people from all over the world congregating in one place... those employees are exposed to a lot. and, to be honest, viewing the mona lisa isn't exactly essential so i can see a lot of places closing just in case.
