Things that make you frown :(

one of the pin/bolts that holds the lawn mower handle fell out at some point, noticed it today when the self propelled transmission stopped working.

(am i allowed to post a double frown???)
 
ten dollar surcharge at the dentist for "protective measures". Of course that wont' be covered. Then the cleaning isn't a full cleaning, some scrapping to remove tarter, and no polishing allowed. I'm guessing those cleaning fees will remain as is..

Rogue extension added to chrome, watching what I was searching on amazon, and inserting fake ads into the google stream for them at a lower price.
While they were at it, they grabbed some tracking numbers from USPS which showed delivered items to my house.
So when i purchased something (through paypal, cause i'm that dense) it showed as shipped/delivered.

if you see items for sale from imifre.shop or expressu.com, they probably got you too......

Paypal refund complete, so no loss, just annoyed.

I dont have any of these issues but how does one check for these things and remove? Just a good FYI

Go to chrome://extensions

I'd say any app that is below rev 1.0 is suspicious, and anything from random developers - click on the details button.

If they say something like

Permissions
  • Read and change all your data on the websites you visit
  • Display notifications
  • Communicate with cooperating websites
  • Capture content of your screen
They are dangerous.
