Probably like 55% then. There are definitely places I ride on the sidewalk now 😂

if the officer is amenable, it may turn into something less penal.
What would @Carson suggest?
I'm sure they do this, but sometimes I think it's just a scare tactic. When I got a careless driving ticket after an accident that I really didn't deserve, that's what they told me. I'd have to wait till everyone else finished and then have a trial. I told them I didn't have anywhere to be and sat back down. They brought the cop in a half hour later. He told me I was recorded saying something I didn't. I asked where the recording was, because that's not what I said. They told me I'd be there till the end of the day again. I said that's fine and sat back down. 5 minutes later they called me back up. Gave some bogus $40 charge plus court fees. No points. And a LONG night in court to get it.
Up to the prosecutor, really. Not the officer. The officer can certainly tell the prosecutor he doesn't mind an amendment of the charge. And a LONG night in court to get it.
30 years ago there was a movie called Falling Down. Not going to court. I’ll check the provided link online or take the points in the chin. What bothers me is that they reopened regular access to the bridge 2 days after I got busted and no visible improvement is even visible. I guess the universe is trying tot El me something…

Sheer laziness on the part of whoever picked that photo. It's the first one that comes up when you search mountain biking on pixabay site.picture chosen vs article content....and the ignorant opening paragraph

I don't get what got your knickers in a bunch...
Monday I was heading back home from my lunch road ride and the light turned yellow just a bit before I could have safely made my left turn so I stopped and was the only bike/car in the turning lane.
I reach down to get my water bottle and just as I look up the car coming from my right hand side cross street proceeds to turn into the ONCOMING LANE of traffic and heads nearly right at me. I threw my hands up and yelled and noted it was an elderly lady with a handicap tag looking quite confused as she passed about 3 feet behind my rear wheel and across the turning lane into the proper lane of traffic.
I had zero time to react and realized afterwards I was a sitting duck and just avoided getting plowed over and dragged by her car. No Garmin varia would have helped me avoid this disaster.
Makes me think more about when I ride alone and where I wait at stop signs and red lights from now on.

Or the opposite where the mountain bikers are riding hybrids with kickstands, reflectors on the wheels and they're wearing running shoesjust the usual - when someone who doesn't mtb, writes about mtb, the pic is usually a redbull rampage image....

The article seems positive though, no?Or the opposite where the mountain bikers are riding hybrids with kickstands, reflectors on the wheels and they're wearing running shoes
I'm just here for the photo issue. The article seems positive though, no?
Isn't this the case of most news articles of the last several years?Poorly written opening graph

Excuse my poor language comprehension skills if you want, but it did not seem that bad...with regard to the picture, besides the laziness conveyed by its being the first picture to pop up on whateverwhenver.com, maybe posting a freeride-ish picture from the early 2000s wanted to convey the erroneously perceived hazardous nature of the sport? My opening line....

Really, I'm just trying to see the positives for a change, even though it's really not in my nature...
