The Significance of EE

Looking at @ktmrider's house build, which is apparently to move to Colorado because weed is legal there, got me thinking of the significance of EE in words and people's tendency to get all crazy and/or snobby about words with two e's.

Here are the big ones:
bEEr
wEEd - this will obviously become more apprent now that it is becoming legal everywhere

and a distant one...

You shouldn't assume things about people you know nothing about . What makes you think I would be involved with an activity like that , it's illegal !

i have no idea what this thread is about. i have never snubbed EE words or anyone for using them. i suck at words, but I can't stand it when people use 'your' and 'you're' at the wrong times. and this is coming from a guy who doesn't capitalize.

honestly the accountant in me only sees "employEE" when i see EE, because that's what everyone is in headcount numbers. EE.
