Could only get out for a half hour during work; had to cruise the industrial park again after work to finish up.
I know I hit "finish" before I drove home, but had to hit it again when I got home and went to save and post the ride. Now I have one of those stupid straight lines from Warren to my house.
I have to be back at work in a couple of hours. I honestly don't see how I'm going to ride d24, but I can't see myself giving up either.
I started at Anadigics in 1990, left in 2001, went back in 2006, out again in 2014, returned in 2017 after ii-vi bought the place. Honestly, I think it's my hell and you all are minor characters in my eternal damnation.
#23. Met up with Ryan and Dom for the end of their epic 208 mile ride. Then I apparently proceeded to leave my Varia and Garmin on the truck tailgate… no luck relocating it.
I need to return to NJ for a few hours today, so I had to catch the ferry this morning. I knew getting in a bike hour was going to be a challenge, so I woke and rode around the golf course before it opened. It is a very rare day that I get on the bike before sunrise.
Woke up this morning with a very unhappy back. Decided to do a lame 1 hr road ride today, one more tomorrow to get to 21 straight days, then take a day off. Or two.
To further cement the decision, I nearly got hit not once but twice today in the first 4 miles of the ride. First was my fault, coming out of our complex it's a steep downhill to a left turn on Concord ridge - I didn't see a green suv approaching as it blended in with the trees behind it and had to brake hard. Then crossing 202 via Everitts, when the light turned green, I went straight across and some jackass in a white pickup turning left decides to whip in front of me - another very hard brake and fishtail to a stop, many expletives sent his way. The Gods are telling me something, or as Bill Engvall says, "Here's your sign".
Anywho, already wrote far too many words for such a short ride but one last observation - must be an organized ride today as I saw more roadies in this one hour ride today than I've seen the last 3 weeks combined.
The secret is you got to coordinate. Most people don't coordinate. You got to co-or-dinate. You saw the volt shirt. BANG! You see you can't stop with the volt shirt. Now let me show you something...
23 - I planned to sleep in after a late return home from Belmont. 7am was the best I could do, but I'll take it. After a decent workday I set out to install air springs in my truck, which went well but took a good bit of time. Before I knew it I was night riding again, and was happy to have 20 minutes rolling after midnight in the bank from the night before. We're leaving for VT on Friday and knocking out house/work projects beforehand, so I don't expect any significant rides this week.
