So far so good.I have nerve damage in both hands from the Ultra stuff. You can still get the job done changing technique and such. The only thing I really lost was being able to Alternate Pick at stupid shredder speeds like a decade ago. Same thing happened to Steve Morse if you watch him play now you see how he moves his whole hand to pick instead of twisting his wrist
Ironically, I think picking up the guitar again when I was 40 (I took guitar as my music class in high school) drastically improved / helped repair the damage to my own hands. I was at the point where I could barely handle using tools. It just seemed to be the ideal therapy, after a year of playing I didn’t have any cramping or ringing in my hands anymore.
