The DIY thread - DIYourself

I have been struggling with my 20" chainsaw dealing with the fallen trees we've seen lately around here. I'm not arguing against the electric ones, I just don't think there's a big enough one to cover all bases out there yet (I see the MSA 300 gets up to 20", mucho $$$$ though) .
It's the Sawyer, not the saw.....

But I here ya.

cleared with 14" Electric with , 2 batteries

Fixed my 2015 Jeep GC gas door latch, the pin holding the door in place pops out of its lower seat and prevents the spring that pops the door open to work. PIA to remove the door assembly from the car but not too complicated of a fix. The internet taught me how to do it. Success!

Do you know the difference between a Jeep and a Jehovah's Witness?

Opened the pool yesterday - turned on the pump, nothing but a buzzzzzz.

Hit it with a ball-peen.

Consider it fixed.

(almost a haiku)

Gemini's version:
Buzzing, pump won't start,Hammer's swift, decisive strike,Now the water flows.

New pump ordered - it wouldn't cleanly restart, and it isn't the start capacitor......

Need help on this. This is in the bathroom next to the tub. Water damage that caused the tiles to buckle and I pulled them off and cleaned this up a bit.

This looks like cement board? Definitely not drywall. The yellow seems to be part of the tub. IDK.

Basically I have a big gap there now because the material/backing has disintegrated and I need to, I guess, fill it in/reinforce it.

What’s my next step here?

Just fill it with thinset and stick them back on.... And then caulk

Well that nice shiny off brand grill I got for Father’s Day back in 2021 turned into a rusty POS. I’m sure whoever I gave my trusty little 20+ year old Weber Genesis silver B to it’s probably still working fine.

Dismantled the old one and put it out for scrap. 30 minutes after I posted the scrap for free on FBMP someone came and took it all.

New to me Summit 6 burner grill has assumed its position for a full summer of grilling. One more to do thing checked off the list.

Noticed the attic exhaust fan wasn't on today. Not sure how long since it's turned on. I went up with screwdriver in hand and as I touched the temp setting dial it came on. Could some type of relay be sticking? I'm pretty sure this thing will be on 24 hours a day for the next week regardless, but at some point I should look at this.
