damn, missed it.

Sweet baby jesus!

DCCX has planned the same thing!

Now taking it as "if you're a Cat 2 and don't want to race UCI you can stomp through Cat 4 traffic and stalk reg opening."

Slash

"Hey Cat 3, stalk reg opening cause those hungry Cat 4's are going to swamp ur field."

Again, planning on racing UCI. Just a new interesting trend.

Agree. The upside is that amateur women get their own start slot without any grumpy old men or children to get in their way. Also, the children get their own start slot.
I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way .Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Then perhaps the children's laughter remind us how we used to be.

By combining all those classes, it gives so many Options for excuses for the racers.

For the faster guys:
I would have won if that cat 4 wasn't blocking my lines.

For the slower guys:
I can't believe I finished in the lead lap with @keithgarrison!!!

Seems like a win win to me.

I just looked at this and I almost can get behind it. +1 on women having their own start, and juniors/kids not having to worry about being run over by someone. I'll save you some time to see the start times/lists below, but I fall into the "remove the masters, make the individual category races" thing. You have two races (the 1pm and 2:15pm) dedicated to Masters. If you make one masters start time, then you could have the 4/5s have their own start time, and a 2/3 start time. As a youngin', not sure I understand the benefit of the masters categories and you can feel free to school me. Maybe in 9 years I'll want to race guys only older than me, but why not lump all the masters together instead of the categories?

My point is that the under 30's don't have the option to race a Masters race. If the Masters people don't want to start in the crowd or behind another group, race the Category race.

Cat 5 - 8:15AM

Masters 40+ 3/4/5 - 9:00AM

Little Belgians 1 - 10:00AM
Juniors - 10:01AM

Cat 2/3 - 11:00AM
Cat 4 - 11:01AM
U19 - 11:02AM

Women 45+ 1/2/3/4 - 12:00PM
Women 3/4 - 12:01PM
Women 4/5 - 12:02PM
U19 Women - 12:02PM

Masters 50+ 1/2/3/4 - 1:00PM
Masters 60+ 1/2/3/4/5 - 1:01PM

Masters 40+ 1/2/3 - 2:15PM
SS Men - 2:16PM
SS Women - 2:17PM

UCI Women - 3:15
UCI Men - 4:15

Surprised no one has thought of this yet... Use the whole day.

Cat 5 Men are the first to go off. 5:30 am. Bring lights.

Every class gets their own race, with no one sharing the course with another age group. Even if there are 3 people racing the 9-14 women's category, they get the course to themselves.

Pro 1/2 go off at 9 am b/c I have shit to do around the house.

Run the races until 11 pm. Rotate the start times for each race in the series so no class gets repeatedly screwed (except Pro 1/2 always go off at 9 am b/c of aforementioned chores).

Thoughts?

When an XC event is shine only, it rains, gets rescheduled and it ends up raining like hell during the rescheduled date and they run the race anyway.

I like the dawn til dusk concept but you don't have enough classes. Everyone in a class by themselves, time trial style starting 6am until dark. Then give everyone a medal and 70% of their money back for getting first place in their class. Everyone's a winner, welcome back to elementary school t ball.

I'm signed up for the 2/3 in Baltimore and DC because racing near the front of a 2/3 is way more fun for me than struggling to lead lap in a UCI race with where my fitness has been at the last couple of seasons. I'm also looking forward to be able to start my drive back to NY before dark since those races are at 11am.

They should have just done a 4/5 in the morning with 2/3/4 mid day and UCI at the end of the day. The old MAC series way of doing stuff was perfect. Even as a Cat 4 I thought it worked well.
