interesting about the timing, i've been harvesting the early girls for over a month and the 250s just last week. though they both appear to be peaking right now at the same time. To me the 250s have a more solid tomato flavor when eaten in the rough. I already have about 20 lbs of tomatoes I'm sending off to family and friends this weekend.

Not sure why my early girls weren't so early. I'm a little crowded w/ tomatoes this year so they're not optimal, that's for sure.

I took this year off, no home grown peppers this year, just the flower box herb garden.

That said, the hops are doing just fine with the benign neglect.
Looking like it'll be a banner year.

Cascade of cascades.

I won't be using them all for sure, so I'll post up closer to harvest and see if any homebrewers can make use of them while they're fresh.

grow in pot, put in greenhouse over the winter.
we've gotten 3 off the two plants we have.

We have a macadamia nut tree from Hawaii (as a gift, we didn't get to go). This is probably what I'll have to do. I was also considering putting it in the basement under UV light, at least for the first winter.

Overthinking the draft from the basement already

Packing it up and heading to San Diego has been mentioned several times in this house! Do it for the macadamia.

Some nice patches you all have.
Used to have a bigger garden, but now just some porch boxes. Just caught the Dog red handed...he loves fruit and veggies and just discovered if he shakes the tomatoes some fall off! Yep, tomato breath! Guess next year its back to a fenced in garden in the yard.

same her Rob, I really like that area as well, especially the La Jolla area. My company has a discovery center there, but I don't have the brain power to work with them PhD folks. May need to go to plan B and get into internet porn or something.....

@rlb and I were speaking at the Watchung meeting about the bumper crops at the tail end of the season, the late wet Indian summer was kind to the plants, though I think it's officially over this/next weekend. Harvest or lose them folks.
For those who don't know, you can eat pepper leaves. They remind me of a spinach but takes longer to cook. Harvest some and cook them like kale or collards. It's one of my fall favorites.
