Tariffs...what to make of them.

Yeah, I went to order a new Trials bike from Tarty last month and it was $1,000 more from Tariffs/shipping increases so I cancelled it. My Co-worker paid $700 extra for a Fairlight frameset. He ordered 3. Took delivery of 1 and cancelled the other 2. My Dick top cap from Bentley is was under the amount though so that didn’t catch a charge.

Fuck. I had doubled up on these 2 Transfomers because they are a Hot Wheels collaboration and would have looked really nice in my collection. Screenshot_20250923_205227_Chrome.jpg

I'm a bit annoyed with myself for not ordering a couple of larger-ticket items prior to the tariffs... Mainly a Tora EVH (UK) and an EZ-Steer kit (NL) for my long-term project Volvo. I also heard a rumor DJT signed an executive order basically repealing or dramatically reducing the tariffs to a reciprocal amount if some sort of agreement is reached... so, we'll see....

The Trials company I order from is in the UK so we take a bit of a beating already because the dollar is weak. My co-worker is going back to visit his parents over the holidays so I’m gonna see if I can ship it there and he can bring it back on the plane.
