Tariffs...what to make of them.

Are you trying to to say all drugs are bad? Pretty positive I'd be dead if it wasn't for a bunch of drugs.
That’s not at all what I’m saying. I am saying, however, that the bulk of modern medicine is not good. It’s not designed to be good. It’s designed to make unhealthy people with shitty diets live longer. I think certain drugs to deal with pain are OK, such as what hospitals use for emergencies, but I don’t think anyone should be on pain medication every day of their life. This includes NSAIDS as well as opiates. I think there are holistic remedies for.ALMOST(not everything) everything. I think certain drugs to deal with cancer and diabetes may be necessary. There are studies that prove NSAIDS while in minimal amounts reduce inflammation actually long-term cause inflammation. Even things such as orthotics in your shoes really only treat symptoms and don’t give a cure.. blood pressure medicine? How about you go on a diet oh, because the doctor says you have to be on this stuff so the doctor is always right. Maybe the doctor should recommend a healthy diet rather than a healthy medicine.

You can recommend a healthy diet till your blue in the face, people won't do it. The amount of people that will make that lifestyle change over taking the pill is so insignificant, it's probably not even worth mentioning. But I'd like to think most do recommend that anyway. Even though their patients will get offended at the notion of them needing to change their lifestyle and leave bad reviews on the surveys they get in the mail leading to lower reimbursement rates. Because medicine nowadays has to be more like Burger King's have it your way, than actual solutions. So the pill is the best option for at least 95% (I think I'm being generous here) of the population. Because lifestyle/diet change is too hard, takes too much effort, is offensive.... Pills are quick and easy, and people are addicted to convenience. I mean shit, go look in the biggest loser thread, this shit isn't even easy for us folks that actively want to make those changes!

I'm just going to chime in for a moment about the blood pressure comment (and medication in general)

No. Not everyone needs to go on a diet and exercise. I am one of the many that need medication for high blood pressure. I've been taking pills for years. I'm not yet 50, 5'4", 125lbs and I'm pretty active to say the least. I've had multiple tests (at my insistence) to make sure something wasn't causing it. Turns out it's just pure shitty genetic luck.

So while I do agree that probably too many people eat shit food and don't get enough physical activity in their lives and rely on pills to solve things, let's chill with the generalizations. Looks can be deceiving about what's going on with a person's health.

Agree in principle. My physician and my cardiologist both have recommended a low dose statin. My physician's predecessor (he retired) characterized statins as a miracle drug.

Didn’t mean to offend you. I said the bulk, not all. Sure, some genetics require some medicine. I get it. Me for example, heart dr said I needed blood thinners. Then he said “let’s quit drinking first”, so I did, and now I don’t need it.

I'm in the same boat. Can't control my hypertension without pills and I tried everything.

The other option is he has no idea what the heck he is doing. It could really be as simple as that. That's scary enough without worrying he's Putin's pawn. Let's just hope he is a complete megalomaniac and that's that. Less than 4 years left.
I just assume he got "Tariffs are good" in his head and you can't change a Boomer's mind.

Typed out a harsh response. Nevermind. Curious. Would your opinion change if someone in your house was diagnosed with cancer tomorrow?

How do you feel about vaccines?
I said certain drugs. There are life saving drugs but the bulk of shit you see on tv can be eliminated. I believe in vaccines. Even the covid one. My mother had polio, vaccine stopped it in it’s tracks basically.

The stock market is not the economy.

Maybe, maybe not. The 10 year bond yiel (the "new" long bond) is important and the value of the USD v. the 💷, the 💶, and the 💹 are all really important.

How have they done since 1.21.25?

Further, what is the drop of WTI a precursor of for the next 23 months?
