Strictly METAL

Me and Mrs. Walter went to see Dropkick Murphys at Starland Ballroom last night, good times, almost a solid 2 hours of music. Nice mix of the classics plus some new stuff. Sure I boo'd when someone threw a NJ Devils jersey on stage and Ken Casey(who was wearing a Bruins jersey) stomped on it and laughed, but all in all a great show.

Last 15 minutes were great, went like this- Kiss Me Im Shitfaced, Takin Care of Business, We're an American Band, Shipping up to Boston, Skinhead on the MBTA, Dirty Deeds, and Citizen CIA. Tons of fun, lots of sing alongs.

Ran into Paul from EMS/Planet Bike. Hes a good dude, chatted with him for a bit.

Not my video, and not even from last night, but whatevs

That sounds like a great time. I'd like to see them at some point.
Missed a free show they gave at the piers in Gotham a while back.
Would have been good.

This show just made my radar:
Mastodon- Gojira - Kvelertak @ Terminal 5
It's a school night, but hey.
Actually more psyched to see the opening acts.
Norwegian metal- come on!

Big fan of Kvelertak, I think I posted a video of theres somewhere in this thread a ways back.

Yeah, been trying to catch them, they don't do a bunch of shows in the area, but seem to like NYC.
Just getting a sense of Gojira, but I think they should bring it too.

Yeah, I heard that news. Totally sucks.
Their music was never in high rotation for me, but I've seen them live a bunch of times, and ALWAYS an awesome show.
I've said many times that GWAR puts on the funnest shows of any metal band out there.

I haven't picked up their last few albums, but it sounded awesome live. For the second set they played the second half of Awake, and a good chunk of Scenes from a Memory. They put on an amazing show every time.

Mother of god, Carcass better get comeback of the year, that album is ridiculous.

It seems like the same 5 bands in every category.

Life of Agony will be playing Starland Ballroom mid September, featuring Mina/Keith Caputo, what say you? Train wreck? Publicity Stunt? Freak show? Good ol fashioned LOA?

I'M EMPTY!! (empty through and through)

My old band used to play with Life'O all the time. I will skip this and remember them as they were...

-Jim.

I have great memories from Life of Agony shows, 1 being at the Stone Pony with Fury of Five. It was one of those shows that was so packed you kinda just picked up your feet, covered your face and went along for the ride. The other was at Studio 1, the show when Keith Caputo was so overdressed he passed out from heat exhaustion. I stopped listening to them when that 3rd album came out, and from what I understand his spirit, energy and vocals were never the same as the earlier shows. Mrs. Walter wants to go, Im kinda in the same boat as you, Jim, it may most likely ruin the good memories.
