Stephens State Park Conditions

I went in this morning to get what I thought was 3-4 trees along Rt80 to Continental. Turns out I got about 10-12 trees and/or tune-ups. Then I went to get the one on Blue, and ended up getting 3 on blue, 2 on white, 1 on Golden, 2 on Meister, and then another on white on the way out. This map covers approximately what I got today. Assume there are more unreported blowdowns, but as of now I got to everything that has been reported. I ran out of both energy and daylight before I could get over to Deer Park.

Jeez! Big day! Thank you!

Happy New Year everyone!! I guess I should chime in with health update. Arthroscopic knee surgery happened on Nov 13 and went smoothly. I'm now 2 months post-op and things are coming back together, albeit slowly. (Healing takes so much longer at this age, unfortunately). My knee still gets painful and swollen after I challenge it. But I'm frequently doing 4mi walks, the elliptical/bike machines at the gym, and I'm on my feet often. I'll probably reintroduce Mt. biking slowly at the 3 month mark, with chainsawing following shortly thereafter, roughly end of Feb/ Early March timeframe. I really can't wait to get back at it.

Thanks to @Teutonic (and sometimes Bill B.) for keeping after it!!

When you are ready, your brain is just as valuable as someone witha s saw. Maybe more.
Consulting!

Glad your recovery is directionally correct!!!

Good snow conditions, started the ride with a dusting and ended the ride with about 4” of fluffy snow. There are two tree’s poking out on the sunset trail, could use a tune up next time someone is thru
No pic but here’s the map

And on white, not far from the station road lot there are two trees down.

Tracking all of these. Maybe Monday I'll try to get some depending on how much more snow we get today/tomorrow.
