Will be riding Sourlands on 9/22 at 9am with two work friends. Was wondering if anyone familiar with the park would be willing to show us around.

That would be great; Thank You!! Will touch base as we get closer to the 22nd.

Hey Reggiehammond - forecast for tomorrow's ride looks very grim. Heavy rain all night, ending about 7-8 in the morning. In past experience, Sourlands is not fun after heavy rains- needs a few days to drain, and the already treacherous rocks get worse.
I'm most likely not riding tomorrow. We'll have to try and do this again sometime- great place to ride, but not when wet.

No worries. Completely understand. We'll def reschedule for another time. I'll keep you posted.

I big Thank You to Mark (Off the Road Again) for showing a few of us around such a great park this past Sunday. I'm embarrassed to say that this was my first time here, but will definitely not be my last. So much goodness packed into a smaller park.

I’d coordinated a few business peeps from PA and Jersey to ride together since we’ve discussed it at every industry event/meeting for the past few years. Everyone had a great time with the boys from PA being super pumped with the endless features. In addition, a big Kudos to those responsible for this park…..great job implementing the rocks into the ride while still maintaining a definitive “flow” to them.

Can’t wait to come back.

You're more than welcome! I was glad to show you guys around, and happy to see everyone liked Sourlands. It is a small park, but it sure is a lot of fun to ride, and has so many rock features to play on. Anytime you want to go back let me know, I love this place.

Hey Mark, we met at Deer Park last winter (I was on the orange fattie). You free next Wednesday AM to show me the goods? I'll bring the FS for sure😉

-Greg (equally embarrassed as Burke, perhaps more)

Hey Icebiker - sure I remember riding with you at Deer Park! I was following your Fattie line, only to realize a '26 2.2 don't float over the same, lol, but I managed. Unfortunately, I work M-F so I can't take time in the a.m. to ride, but if you're free any weekend day I'd be more than happy to show you the goods of Sourlands. Sourlands is definitely a Bucket List item to check off for any mountain biker in NJ, starts out super easy, then adds a climb or two, and then you hit the fun stuff!!

Thanks! I happen to be off that day, but no worries we can try for a weekend. I'll be in touch! Sourlands is the Jackalope of my riding venues.😀

Gotta ride it, get that Jackalope off your shoulders. Takes a few times out there to understand and see the lines, but once you do you'll be back for more. Most challenging trails in NJ, and i've ridden most every trail in Jersey. Not tooting my horn, just been riding a long time. Waway and JH are a close second for difficulty.
