Single Speed frame thoughts

69er

Any thoughts on the Trek 69er SS? 29 in the front 26 in the back whats up with that?

Great name for a for a bike :D

not much info on that specific bike yet. 69er 96er has some following out there. the concept is to get the rear wheel up and moving faster, but still have the comfort and handling up front with the 29inch wheel.

I dont see anything wrong with concept, but then you got to carry 2 tubes.

as far as the trek goes i like the looks of the bike, but i dont know if the double crown is necessary

the trek 69er, from what i've been able to gather, is still not ready to go. that, and the fact that they raised the price from $1500ish to where it is now was a huge turn off for me. if they were pulling some crazy concept outta there collective arses then i could see paying the money. but, it's a single speed, aluminum hardtail bike. if you really dig the 69er concept (like me) look into the carvers. if you have a couple of bikes laying around to part out, you could probably put one together for less then a grand.
