I used to be a flats guy after twisting my knee with clipless couple years ago. Then I discovered the Shimano multi-release cleats. Almost like flats for release but with a security of having one's foot in the same spot and not constantly re-adjusting position on the downhills.
Should a new mountain biker learn to ride on flat or clipless pedals?
