Just so long as it's a naturally occurring, wild peanut butter Smidgen, I think you're ok. Hey, WTF, does this fascist board not realize it's DST? Who runs this shit hole anyway?

soooo, finally found the motivation to get back on the bike. not sure what took it out of me, but there was just no getting my ass on the saddle for the past two weeks. no way no how.

rode the ss/road/commuter/cross thing in today. same bike i rode up high point. felt pretty good, and i was able to put some power down to the pedals. i think i might have broken 1hr on my morning commute of 16.5 miles. afternoon i took the long way, and aain felt good, clocking 21.? miles in about 1 hr 15 mn. the eggbeaters have officially shit the bed now, as i broke another wing on the way home today. two broken wings on one pedal just don't work. maybe i'll see about switching the wings from my candies with the disintegrated internals onto the eggbeaters...

contact CB. My experience was that they replaced the wings for free and serviced both pedals, even though they were out of warranty - quick turn around.

I can hook you up with a new & unused set or 2. The last 2 bikes I got from Cannondale came with eggbeaters. Maybe a barter for some of your artistic abilities ?

A second for the Pedal Spa at Crank Bros. I sent pedals in last year and they came back basically brand new in nice Apple-like packaging with a check list of all of the services they'd had. Took about a week.

yesterday was my first sub hour commute from stanhope. it's nothing monumental, as i never really put alot of effort into my morning commutes, but it was a milestone nonetheless. and i felt horrible too. the soft tissue behind my left knee was sore, and i felt like i had no power, just sluggish but i guess it was all in my head?? took it easy on the long route home, did a little exploring on foot of some local trails.

today i felt great on the way in and the way out. was able to maintain nasal breathing for most of the mornings commute, and all of the afternoons. they were otherwise without incident.

felt good this morning, right around an hour in. i must've felt great this afternoon, because without even trying i did the 21.5 mile ride home in just under 1 hr 10 minutes. might have had something to do with positioning, as i was trying climbing in the drops. i think maybe it just makes you pedal harder or something.

took it easy this morning, as i felt a wee bit stiff from yesterday's ride home, but still ended up right around an hour. after work i rode to my parents to do my taxes with my sister. was offered dinner and a drive home from mom, which i gladly accepted.

holy crap. calculated cost of driving to alaska:

1 week and $1500 - $2000, assuming no breakdowns.

calculated cost of flying up and shipping my belongings, - truck:

1-3 days and @$500 total.... add in the money from selling my truck, and it's looking more and more like flying to me....

Well if you decide to drive and something happens along the way ill come and get you...

just picture this:

But picture you and me.

led brett out through swamps and brambles and on trails still fluffy from frost heave today. he was nice enough not to murder me for it. we were scouting out part of the route for the kittatiny backdoor. we found all the shitty parts, and realized after bushwacking through them that we should have taken this turn or that and it would have made it much more enjoyable. so we suffered for a few hours to find the way that we're not going to go during the epic. but we did establish that it is possible to do a kittatiny/allamuchy loop with less than 2 miles of road and no backtracking. now i just need to go back and figure out how the non-sucky route linkss up.

i was running a half gorilla setup, with 29 x 2.55 up front and 26 x 3 out back. i had no problems floating right over the frost heaved trail that was trying to suck the life out of brett and his 2.1(?)" tires. still pedalled uphill nicely enough. only downside was the lower bottom bracket, which caused me to bottom out the bashring and pedals more often and unnexpectedly.

i'm guessing we got in about 2 hrs and 20 minutes of total time and about 14-18 miles of riding.

as long as i can ride with no pants on we're golden.

spent last night at the parents' house, rode the five unneventful miles in from here this morning, and the five unneventful miles back this afternoon. worked overtime, and didn't feel like riding all the way back to stanhope tonight.

another ten mile day. on the way home i checked out one of my old play sites, and all the old dropoffs are still good. just need to clear away some debris(branches) and dropoff practice will be on for this weekend... :getsome:

ten a day, all week till today. still at my parent's waiting for the sky to turn the oven off. fecking hot out today. i don't like it. ggrrrrr!!!! :mad2: i wanna go back to alaska NOW. gonna ride home to stanhope in a few. mebbe....

have i died?? fecking sun. got as low as 80 on my 1 hr ride from parent's house to here on the half-gorilla(orangutan from now on). and of course, in the half hour since, it's dropped to 71. 😎
