Safari in Private Mode and Login

I was using Safari (usually use Firefox, but couple of sites do not work well with Firefox and certificate based authentication that my company uses) in private mode today and every few minutes I had to log back in. I do not have any issues with Firefox in private mode. Anyone else having similar issues or is it just me being special :smh:

platform/device?

my iphone seems fine. The usual suspects (full disk, out of memory) on the server are ok.

MacBook Pro running Catalina. Plenty of disk space and memory available. No issues running other applications

OK you MacBook people, what are you seeing?
@capedoc ?

What happens in private mode in chrome? (are you allowed to add s/w?)

this is usually a cookie issue - private mode not playing nice.
We have some 3rd party stuff going on because of google analytics.

Seems i remember this problem last year, but it was a memory or disk space issue on our side.

No issues with Chrome or Firefox in private/incognito mode. I was just reporting the issue in case anyone had any pointers on why I was having issues. I will go back to using two browsers one for work the other for MTBNJ or just use my phone to view posts.

Thx 🙏🏼

Sorry Pat I don't see a button for private mode anywhere. Not even sure what that means to be honest.

Shift+command+N

It opens a new Safari window which will not record your browsing history or passwords, and erase all cookies when closed.
Contact Mitch for use cases.

@dvaidya wants to know if it will stay logged into mtbnj for more than a few minutes at a time. He has found a work around

Ooooooooo i thought it was a menue option within the website. I was looking on the website menua bar for private mode. Didnt know wit was a browser thing. Been using Macs exclusively for 25 years and never even knew about this. Probably because I have absolutely no use for it hahaha.

Anyway everything looks fine as far as I can see. Posting from a 2019 15" Macbook Pro in Chrome on Private-ass mode

Hopefully Mitch knows that his ISP and Google both still know everything he's doing.

vpn, and tunneled dns.
then it is just a matter of the goog tracking ya all over.

Ha that just brings up an InPrivate window in Microsoft Edge. Everyone knows that's just for porn!
