are all droppers created equal?
any recommendations? any brands to steer clear of? are any companies "better" at making these more narrow size posts? what's up with different travel lengths (90mm vs. 110mm) - does that just depend on the length of my legs or is there some other weird science i'm not accounting for here?

looking to put it on a karate monkey, will be routed externally.

travel effects total length -
total length can effect insertion length (hit the first bottle boss or seat tube curve)
opposite is min insertion, the saddle being high enough at full extension
so there is a little bit of balance between where you want your saddle when seated, putting it down for standing, and total travel.

Measure your saddle height at the rails now, and draw a picture with some numbers. should help.

Don't get a reverb

It seems as though the newest Reverb Stealth is not available in a post diameter less than 30.9. It might also not be available with external routing, perhaps as it is a hydro-actuated post.

i dig it. thanks all.
PNW looks good. great reviews on their site as well.

this is something down the road (or down the trail, haha that's kind of a pun... oh god i'm such a dad) for me, i'm still hooked into the trail-a-bike attachment collar on my seatpost for a while, and i can't think of an elegant way to swap back and forth if i want to do a quick jaunt with daughter. maybe i'm not being imaginative enough?

good lord the PNW doesn't include a LEVER which costs an additional $69....

maybe it's a good thing i've got the trail-a-bike to keep me from buying this

You don't have to buy their lever specifically. I got mine post used, and it's not a PNW lever.

i have a PNW Coast 27.2 dropper with a Loam Lever that is great, but not quite long enough to fit my retrofitted frankengravel trek Xcal...hit me up with a DM if you want to check it out
