Ray's adding more stuff

I am going to go there with a couple of freinds for a weekend trip.
This place looks wild to ride...😉

looks to me like just a filler type thing.

IDK, what's the point of that? It may be a transfer wall ride out of the bowl, but only on the left side looking down. The right seems useless. It may have been a marijuana induced build, I've seen worse.

the only way it would make sense if they painted it pink. Otherwise, it is useless.

EDIT: Was just looking at it again. I think it may be there to discourage people from launching out of the bowl and then landing on the downside and slamming into the side of the box section. The only other thing I can see if to manual the flat sections on the top out of the bowl or from the tops of the boxes. Either way it has really limited use.

I think I would die trying to ride any of that. They say it's a MTB park but when you see the 20" people flying off the walls, it's totally geared for rolling on 20s.

It's a wall ride like you said but looks to work best off the left side. Right side could be grinded from the table to the right of it and dudes will be able to get on and off it. I'd like to see some creative BMX riders hit that - guys like Taj would ride it like a half and then pocket transfer to that table/hip behind it.

Everything in that room seems to serve a purpose and I am sure that taco thing is meant for something. There is so much good building in that room that went on. Really, a work of art to cram that much in a small space.

One thing that Ray's does well is flow people around and I think that room has it even better - lots of lines but really only 2 or 3 starting places. Go to Lakewood on a Sat or Sun and see some grom craziness - this room should flow pretty smoothly.

Nah, that inner tabletop line has small mtb written all over it, and I bet a majority of the people riding it will be on 26" hardtail and loving it. The same type of line in the main room was used by everyone when I was there a couple years ago - girls, small kids, old guys, even Aaron Ross (although he was 180'd the last one).

Outside big line will be burned up by the local 20" crew. If and when you go out, you will really think they will hit the ceiling on that stuff. But there will be some big wheel riders having a blast on it too. I want to try it out something fierce. I know of a few local big wheel riders that could handle it too.

that just looks like fun. i'm gonna see if i can get out there before december and it hits the fan at work until march.

place looks soooooooooo fun. I think it is funny you see all of those awesome ramps and then a skinny that is 6" off the ground and 1' wide. I guess you gotta start somewhere....I would say I am gonna get there, but we all know that ain't happening...

that just looks awesome. i wish it was in our backyard.

I noticed 30,000 sq ft at $3.99 triple net right down the road from Allaire the other day. Ray's is at a lower rental rate, of course, but it's also 120+ sq ft. I think you could take the best parts of Ray's and put into about half that size, maybe even smaller. But a $2-3 rental would be needed. If anyones is interested let me know, it's something I've been tossing around for a few years.

I don't know jack about real estate but I suspect you'd have to go to some really old industrial district to find an affordable rent/lease. Are you willing to start up your business in Newark, Perth Amboy, Trenton, Patterson, etc.?

From what I have heard, Ray chose that paticular space because it was in a tax free redevelopment zone. So in addition to cheap (cheaper) rent, the city wanted business desperately and was willing to help out by alleviating the tax burden for so many years.

Wonder if there are any towns offering something like that around here.

I vote you do it in Trenton.........that's closest to me over here in PA. 😀

Seriously, I would LOVE to have a place like that around here. Granted, I'd leave the dirt jumping and stuff to you guys, hell, I don't even know what a "grom" is, but I'd love to hit some of the other technical stuff Rays has.

Some of the guys from the shop go every year and they are more stoked then ever to see the new room.
