Have you ever done anything stupid? Stupid enough to warrant handcuffs and a ride in Johnny Law's Taxi?

if you dont want to tell your story that is fine, poll is anonymous.

I got arrested for trespassing the day after my HS graduation. My gf at the time and I, along with 2 of my buddies decided to check out Blairsden in Peapack Gladstone. This was when WeirdNJ was big, that's how we found it. Due to my keen sense of direction we were actually able to find the place (these were paper maps days, I don't think any of us had a cell phone at the time). We parked on Lake Rd near a bridge over the stream (which is now totally overgrown). We crossed the bridge and made our way onto the property and began the hike up to the house.

Along the way we found a couple coming out who warned us they had been chased off by the property manager. Of course we kept going anyway and made it up to the house. We were spotted too and chased away, and by the time we got back to the car the cops were waiting for us. My gf was hysterical so they sat us down on some rocks on the side of the road. I wasn't aware at the time, but one friend had weed on him which he was able to ditch in the rocks we were sitting on without the cops noticing. In the end we all wound up with trespassing charges. I was under 18 at the time, so my "punishment" was to write an essay for some sort of juvenile intervention board or something like that.

The whole thing makes every bike ride on Lake Rd that much more enjoyable.

Edit: I must have told this story online once before, I already had the bridge pic uploaded to Picasa

Detained/cuffed & stuffed? Or actually booked and charged with a crime?

In ~98 I think, i was leaving the ringside pub in caldwell with one of my buddies...its was dec 23rd I think and snowing pretty hard. Like 3am. We were walking down the street back to our car. These two guys were behind us and pushing each other screwing around...one pushed the other into my friend, he then falls to the sidewalk and smacks his head. Gets up pissed off and has words for these two guys. I grabbed my buddy and tried to get us out of there....I start walking, two seconds later I look back and the guys have tackled my friend. I run back toss both of them off my friend, one I literally threw. Grabbed my friend and again tried to get out of there. Too late.

Car pulls up and its three more of this two idiots friends. One who was like 6'3, all of them are WASTED drunk. Big dude swing like 3' over my head, then we hit the pavement wrestling. He ripped this new hoodie I was wearing and I remember getting so fucking mad I was able to get over on him and get a few shots to his face. I look up and see that two guys were on my friend, so i jumped and charged full speed at one close lining him. One of our female friends came running over and the one drunk dude knocked her down, which then led to other people watching jumping on him...it was a complete riot in the middle of the street.

I knew the cops would be coming, I was just hoping before I got shot or stabbed. They literally came in cars from every direction, like an army of them. This was when things too a huge turn in our favor. The drunken idiots were mouthing off to the cops as soon as they got there. They cuffed all of us, and I said to my friend: "just keep your mouth shut and DONT give them a hard time" We did this. They refused. Female cop starts emptying the pockets of the first kid and he says "sweetie, what you think I have a gun" BAM, he gets slammed right to the pavement, face first, really hard, then cuffed. She jumps up and says "anyone else going to give me a problem??" I did my best not to crack a smile.

Meantime, the big idiot sees this and starts yelling that his dad is a prosecutor and that they area all getting written up, etc...holy shit it was funny. He got himself slammed into the hood of a car after throwing one of the cops off of him while they were trying to cuff him. It was perfect, these douchebags basically got my friend and I totally off the hook. But we were all cuffed and stuffed, taken to the station. We sat there quiet...while in the next room two of these guys were screaming bloody murder cursing out these cops for arresting them. The female cop eventually came in and said to my friend and I: "so as we understand it, you two were walking down the street and these drunks jumped you and you were just defending yourselves" us: yes mam, thats what happened..."ok you are free to go." I know one of them was charged with assaulting a police officer, and a bunch of other things, but we got in no trouble in the end. So lesson learned, in that situation, keep your mouth shut and do not give the cops any bullshit.

Yes. For tampering with a fire alarm in a dorm at Kutztown.

I was put in cuffs for riding my bike on the sidewalk in York, put in the paddy wagon, but was never ready my rights, so I guess that didn't count. Ended up being a $50 ticket. One of the kids I was with didn't have a job and was under age and got 80 hours of community service. After finding out my ticket was so small, he actually went back to the court (municipal) and asked to speak with the judge. The judge was pissed he came back in and slammed him with the max fine ($300 or $400) AND the community service. Haha, dumb ass.

GTA & fleeing. Got to see the business end of a 9mm while i was at it.
luckily i was 16 - and yes, was going to return the vehicle - started as a joyride, ended up turning in my belt and shoe laces at the desk - got my own cell tho......

to utah's point, once over, yes sir, no sir works much better.

arrested? no
had a warrant on me because they were convinced I was part of some stolen car ring. came and got me at 4am, took my car, went through a lot of questioning. released, and got my car back. it was all very strange and a much better story if I tell you in person.

someone stole $1440 from my buddy, and tried to pin it on me. they brought me in for questioning and the questioning actually turned out to be about the first story about stolen cars. it was strange. I didn't steal the money, you would have had to be completely insane to steal money from this kid.
it actually made me become much better friends with the guy who got the money stolen, he was pretty insane, came to my house to ask me if I took it, it REALLY looked like I did. I said no, I swear I didn't. He said okay, and left. He believed me, and we were hardly friends at the time. We became better friends and pretty close, spent most of my time with him in my formidable years. He died suddenly a few years later. I'm still not over it.
