Poison Ivy Mousetrap

STEWART FTW. Just zoom in on your destination in your mapping app and ensure you are coming into Stewart from the North side. If you come in from the South, you will be sad. Google should be smarter by now. Just don't use a GPS pin too close to the 400 Ridge Road address as it may just have you park on the shoulder of the Route 84 overpass.

This may be exaggerated, but I still have no idea how some people were ever sent that way. Coming from NJ, 87 to 84 to 17k is the fastest way. Unless you live around the area my parents to in NY, that's really the only way it would send you up side roads and to Stewart South. I usually take the side roads anyway because 87 is boring AF.

Oh and please note that it’s Stewart State Forest not StewartS. I don’t know why people always type/say that. It’s up there on my list with nuclear/nucular. The race will be a blast!
+1. And Sterling not Stirling.

If you stay on the trail, you will be fine...If you step off the trail to go pee in the woods, you could have issues.

I get it every single year bc no amount of soap, etc works for me....So remember when you see the arrows on the course....Utah gave himself poison ivy for that arrow...lets all point at him and laugh

@Dave Taylor @Mountain Bike Mike

Will I be seeing your two ugly mugs at this race?

I had this thought of converting my scalpel to SS as a tribute to my favorite race....SSAP...but im not sure this is a good idea in practice.
I’ll race u ss if u do dis ?

Haven't decided... My MBU meter & Mother's day sensors are trying to determine if racing this weekend is permitted..

The oldest boy mentioned the other race happening on the same day which is just over an hour away.... The Itchy and Scratchy Show (your race) ((Would be a better name for this race)) race is at least 2 hours away...

it will be a last minute audible call

Yes I forgot about that one.

Yes a couple of years ago I used apple maps to get up there for a group ride and it routed me through the park (which obviously didn't work) so I missed the ride by the time I figured out how to get there, in any case on Saturday I will use either Google maps or Waze.

just double check ahead of time that it routes you in from the north side

I have an actual real question after watching that video about the poison ivy, most of the technical stuff I didn’t know. Question is, wouldn’t it be beneficial to coat your skin that would make wiping off the bad oil easier? So even if you sprayed your skin with sunscreen or something wouldn’t it help prevent it from getting into your skin or at least make it easier to wipe off with the soap method?
