Not sure yet, I want to pre-ride this Friday. Tommy and raced there two years ago and it was tough. Last year I heard that the riders started at the bottom and climbed to the top and most thought it was crazy hard, which might explain was there are only 12 riders signed up :hmmm: If they do the same loop as last year I'm out. I'll report on Friday after the pre-ride. I might be going with Pokgirl, that is if she ever 😛 gets back to me! Hey Heidi!!!!

RC ... 🙂

Oops, just reading this ... get back to me?? Oh, there is a notification up at the top of my page. Doh! That thing never sends me an email!

Please report back, cause inquiring minds want to know....

I did this race in '99...I remember climbing a lot:hmmm:

Then a thunderstorm blew in and it rained like hell!! I got DFL in sport that year. But as a flipside I won my first trials comp!!

Wow, is that third pic part of the race? Then I'm in trouble! 😀
Time for a popcorn break.

Than she's in trouble she says! That's the rabbit talking to the turtle 😀

Welp, yes it's a word, With the Hudson Valley getting 3+ inches of rain Wednesday night and more through out most of the day today I didn't go pre-ride the course. However, I did speak to a few that did ride the course yesterday. Yes it is a different layout from the dredful course from last year but they are still making the riders start at the bottom of the ski slope and claw and climb their way to the top and that's from a top Cat 1 rider. I might go ride the course tomorrow, but racing on Sunday is still up in the air. I wonder who will keep Heidi company on the start line 😕

RC ... 🙄

I will likely be going as well, the more climbing the merrier for me. It slows those suspension bikes down. Plus 3 weeks with no racing would be too long.

Race Report

Another wet one, but I loved it! I don't mind the rain at all, and the rocks and roots didn't seem to get slicker. We were riding through streams on the downhill, but I just go with the water, eh? I heard this year's course was improved over last year's, cause they broke up the climbs. There was two big climbs and plenty of time to recover for the 2nd one.

I must have found my way to the downhill ST on my preride, and I thought I was in big trouble! I found out the ST and downhills were definitely do-able, so I worked harder on the 2nd lap. It was much, much easier than riding Mt. Snow last year in Root66! Just take it easy on the uphill. Why didn't more people come out to practice for Windham and Mt. Snow? I came away happy to get a good climbing workout and satisfied I could ride the technical stuff.

I was there. Got 1st place in SS. Climbs were steep, but doable and the rain kept it interesting. Totally glad I went.

i ran a 32:21. it was perfect for getting up the big climbs. i only needed to get off and walk on the steepest parts. some of the singletrack climbing was unrideable no matter who you were or what gear you had, so i felt no shame in running instead. the way back down was so much more fun though. congrats on your win!

Thanks. I also ran 32-21. I think everything was rideable, not that I did being my heart was about to explode out of my chest and I decided to walk a few spots to try to drop my HR down a few beats.
