OOS MOGA

I usually have an issue when its pay to ride...
Also, looking at this.... there are massive climbs at the upper end.... 107miles with 7900ft of climbing.... 75miles 5800ft.... 62miles 4500ft..... 42moles 3200ft..... 18miles 1300ft
Which one are you thinking of doing? 62miles and 4500ft would be pushing it for me.
Considering it’s my first fondo I’m thinking 40 miles but I kinda want to do the 62

They say the some of the climbs will be timed. Not sure what that means but I assume if you don't make the cut off you are disqualified?
But anyways, IMO miles is nothing if your objective is to just finish.... its the climbs that will deplete you and make you cry. I think 42 is safe but 62 will be challenging.
If you do it... I'll join you. LMK

Timed climbs use Strava to give it awards. No cut off

Yeah but name of the game is lightweight. Unless you are sponsored or money is not a factor, HT will be the better value in that regard.

In my case, I would love to have the blur... but had to settle for the rdo.
$3200 for an NX build to start ... on the Blur plus they say you’ll want the trail edition which is over $4800...
Your RDO looking damn good .

$4500 on the Blur S build (which doesn't have a dropper) to get it near the weight as my RDO which has a dropper.
I think I spent under $3k on my RDO. As a n+1 bike, I am pretty happy with the RDO. But if @rick81721 goes senile and sells his Blur at pennies on the dollar.... any day of the week I will make that switch! lol

Yeah but from what I read you’ll want the Fox 34 not 32 on that bike which is $4799 before taxes .

I think it’s SC best looking frame too Imo

Actually $6,500 as the X01 is in the weight range of your RDO. So RDO is a great value for weight conscious individuals. On a smooth cross country course RDO would be a great choice. I found the Blur can be ridden on most trails but slightly sketchier than a trail bike. Tallboy while heavier has a more well rounded ability for riding anywhere in the state. Looking forward to Jorba Fest to try the Ibis Ripley.

While I’m a fan of the 34 I’m not sure it’s necessary in a 23 pound bike. I’ve tried the Blur with the 32 and it felt OK under various conditions.

OOS HM Treasure Hunt Ride
8/4 Sunday 8:30AM

Thought to put some additional fun into our ride.

Frank and I will be hiding 4 MTBNJ water bottles thru out the park. We will stop at each general area where the bottles are hidden and you will have 10 minutes to search for them and/or rest. Finders keepers! If you cant find them.... more bottles for me and Frank.

Meet at the rear lot of JVC and we will start from there.

Treasure hunt part is cancelled
