OOS MOGA

I'm thinking of doing a 21 day cleanse to kick off a healthier eating plan. Nothing extreme, just planning to cut out meat for 3 weeks and begin eating smaller portions. But still plan to eat eggs and meat stocks for soups and such. Anyone tried these diets before able to provide some suggestions. Don't plan doing those plans where I'm eating 10 times a day and I'm down to 2-3 beers a week which I'm perfectly comfortable with.

Isagenix.
Ditch the beer or you're really just eating less shitty.

I pretty much don't eat meat as my wife is a vegetarian...did I answer your question? Portions may have something to do with it though...

Have you done the Isagenix before? I'm personally not a fan of the proprietary diets and supplement programs. Like to see what I'm eating and a pill is not food. 80% of my food intake is already not processed.
Ditch beer or scotch completely? what's wrong with you...
yeah, did the 30day "cleanse" in spring 2016 and dropped 15-18 pounds. best CX season that fall. then beer and weight gain. half heartedly did it again last winter, but beer, so it didn't work that great. If you really want to drop #s, alcohol has to go (mostly). @xc62701 and @fidodie have used the same/similar. I only threw it out there cause you said "cleanse". Eating clean and not drinking should yield similar results.

what type of fats are you consuming and do you drink milk or eat eggs?

I do eat eggs, honey, fish occasionally (salmon, tuna). Lentils, potatoes (mash and baked, never fried), beans, brussels sprouts, carrots, mushrooms. My problem has always been excessive carbs intake, as I do love my bread and pasta (with either pesto, tomato sauce or simple garlic and oil, my wife makes a mean vegetable lasagna though), such a sterotype being italian!

We only drink almond milk and more recently switched to walnut milk, even though I use real (kind of, grated parmesan does not really qualify as such) cheese on my pasta.

I went to a dietician a while ago, she said the diet was perfect but the portions were way too big!

Oh, and I rarely drink any alcohol or soda.

Being Asian... rice is my mortal enemy.... so says my doc.
But anyways, I have the same problem.... portions. Recently, I lost a couple of lbs by controlling portions. Maybe more... havent really weighed myself but pants feels big. At lunch, Instead of a hero, Ill have a sandwich on a roll instead. Still kills me that its the same price! My portion of rice for dinner is about half of what I used to eat. Been at it for about a month now.

I guess its the mentality. I used to eat until I got full. Now I eat until I am no longer feel hungry.

BTW.... you never sneak off to McDonalds for a Big Mac every now and then?

Would brown rice work for you? I begrudgingly converted to whole wheat pasta when available, which is a major sin for an Italian. Anyway, you don't strike me as fat.

See, I never feel full nor I stop feeling hungry! It's the result of being raised by parents that grew up during dire financial times( before, during and right after WWII in Italy). As food was scarce when they grew up, once finances got better for them the first thing they improved was their food intake (in quantity at least). If I refused food because I felt full or simply wasn't hungry I was scolded and forced to eat it anyway, as it was inconceivable to them that food on the plate would not be consumed.

I have done a couple of times ...then as soon as I got home I confessed with great gravitas my wrongdoing! Really not part of my food habits.

Brown rice? What is that? Is that regular rice smeared in shit? Ppl eat that? Gross!
My dad grew up during the Korean War so he instilled the same "value" for me. No food goes to waste.
When I was 8yo or so.... I literally ate bacon until I puked! lol

But after about 2 weeks, I actually get full with the smaller portions.
Couple of days ago... had a Dennis from Parisi and I couldn't eat the whole thing. Ate only half.
