OOS MOGA

Hey @Mtbdog did you race today?
Yeah! What an experience, really neat riding between banners. The off-cambers were challenging, riding on grass is something you gotta do,FUN. A sandy corner around a kids playground thing got me, front wheel hit the sand and I hit thingamado. A whole different game than XC, people everywhere, in XC you can go a mile and not see anybody, in CX they are right there pretty neat. I got smoked, DFL, but wouldn't trade it. FUN, was had! Gotta try it!

Did you end up getting a CX bike or did you ride your HT?

HT all the way. Locked out the fork and activated the timber bell and off I went into the slippery grass unknown.lol was fun regardless.

The start, the first turn, second turn, the whole middle of the race, and the finish! In all seriousness you need cardio, the obstacles aren't techy per se, it's the course just keeps coming at you. After cardio you gotta be able to turn on a dime like now, not later, now! no need to overthink it, cardio and turns and you'll be good to go.

How much of a difference do you think a lighter CX bike would have made?

I think it's more positioning on the bike. On the mtb your sitting high so turning is compromised. With the cx your in the attack position with weight on the front end more. The geo on the mtb is lax compared to a true cx, rake and trail are in different worlds for the two disciplines. big difference with true cx bike.

My ht weighs 22 lbs. I can't blame the bike. The most you could save is what 3-4 lbs. I got more crap between my ears than that 😛 I could use skinnier tires for less rolling resistance as a simple improvement I guess. Gotta see how the Giant plays out before next bike, but i'll have to try a few more races before jumping in whole hog. Though I gotta say again it was really neat riding thru the banners man it was fun!

Are you talking about the MRSA or the Lyme disease ? I did have surgery about two months after treating myself for the Mrsa and tested negative before the procedure . Man I think about all my ailments @ the age of 53 and I am a hot mess ……….lol

The Lyme. Antibiotics are the only thing that will kill that bacteria. It will not go away any other way. With MRSA, a lot depends on where the infection is.
