OOS MOGA

HA! I was actually goofing on this... since CR or Sourlands is not really NNJ... altho they are not bad options.

I think @JerseyPete offered a tour of Ramapo
@Mtbdog also threw out HM
Either way, I am sure a ride will manifest itself soon or later.

Got it. I got excited since those 2 places are less than 30 minutes from my house. lol. I'll keep an eye out for a real ride...

I guess we like Ramapo?
I haven't been in forever and want to get back there so will try to make myself available when a ride might happen but my flexibility is minimal as you prob know.

After I get riding for a few weeks and conditioning back I will be offering to lead a ride at Wildcat if you think people would be interested. I can do a short 1.5-2 hour 8 mile loop or a longer 10-15 loop depending on what we want to hit. It would be fairly intermediate like HM or RW.

Oh.... I hope you didn't misinterpret my comment. I wasn't complainning.
Your experience way surpasses mine and I value your judgements on these type of things.

EDIT: I think we got ride info taken care of via strava
But those volunteer and TM opportunities where I think some conversation is needed. Personally, not having done anything of the sort, had a few questions and would think it would be the same for those without prior experiences. I didn't think strava events would be sufficient.

No offense taken or remotely assumed.

Fair point on the TM thing. This thread does go off the rails. Honestly it is a known issue. Do you keep it in an open thread for all? Or do you want to keep it an OOS-based convo? You end up with problems with both. The problem about a bulletin board account is that you then don't have the ability to ask questions.

I haven't been to Ramapo... but I would imagine it to be typical NNJ rocks... maybe a little rougher from what I hear?
My only reservation with Ramapo is whether @TimBay would enjoy it. He is decent rider and does well at Hartshorne but NNJ rocks are a different type of riding. I just don't want him to throw his Talon into the trash and impulsively blow a boat load of cash on a FS bike immediately after riding NNJ. lol

@Fire Marshal Max are you free any days this week to sneak out early and hit up Wildcat, obviously, this invitation is open to anyone else as well just know Max is local and usually available.

Friday I am really hoping to leave the office around 12 or 1 to do a Wildcat ride and finish up for happy hour at 3 if anyone is interested.

P.S. I can't do today have a dentist appointment.
Thursday yes I can see if I can get out Friday

I have no say for an OOS ride this Sunday as I am going to ride demos all day at the Fat Tire Festival at Blue Mountain Reservation in Peekskill NY; however, if Tim is not used to rocks, Ramapo is mostly rock and tech with little flow but is a good challenge. Somewhere like Stevens may be a better compromise between Hartshorne and Ramapo. Just my 2 cents.

Ain't got cash to throw, so the Talon (ToEG) is my ride for a while. I want NNJ rocks, but prefer something manageable for my first ride with them. That said, I'm not ashamed to go slow or walk if something is outta my league so I really dont care where we go. We'll be riding bikes in the woods, so it'll be fun no matter what.

Yes, I have heard Ramapo can be worse than RW and the easy parts are super boring around the lake. I think RW, up to white on fire roads to Pierson and back down with Cats nest thrown is in a pretty good loop. HM is a good option, Tourne is small but fun, Don't know CR well, but that always seems wet. Stephens is ideal but off limits this weekend, that might have been the best choice. Wildcat is a blast and I love it but can be pretty tough, I actually think depending on the road possibly tougher than RW.

What else you think?
Edit: BTW don't forget I am hardtail for life and I ride everything so he should be fine.

Was this going to be a Saturday or Sunday ride? Saturday I can probably join, Sunday I have much greater time constraints so may not join or only half the ride. This doesn't matter but don't want to push a ride that I wouldn't be on.

Also if I don't join, I will prob do an 8am loop at Wildcat, figure 8 mile 1:20-1:40

In the history of man and the internet, nothing good has ever come of 1 person having 2 accounts. Trust me on this. Like I said, if you want to figure something else out, we can work out what you need and what we can do. What's the aim here?

I mean let's be real, if you are hoping to keep any stream clean, it's not gonna happen. This is where it ends up going:

1. Paul owns account
2. It gets to be too much
3. Paul shares password with multiple people
4. Whatever you were doing turns into a shit show

Paul just wants to use it to like all his post to boost his numbers let him have it ? ??

The OOS Admin idea was a brain fart type of thing after reading @KenS post. We had a great time and it was very rewarding for me personally and thought that OOS should get more involved. Then started to think about how to get this info out to rest of the crew effectively because there are a few of us who doesn't have the time to deal and sift thru with all the crap that goes on on this thread. Like @kbajaj @huffster @GreenMachine and others who are only able to check in maybe once or twice a week and they miss out on the opportunity. I mean come on... the thread is awesome and entertaining and all and... I digress. Anyways, then I thought what if they get an alert just by subscribing to "something" and I just started asking questions to @Patrick regarding the "follow" function thingamajig. Sure, you can tag them but then... ah fuck it.... I am just lazy. Again... just random shit that farted out of my ears.
