OOS MOGA

Plan changed and was actually in Greenwood lake. Great place if you haven't been there but fyi, there are motor boats too.
Greenwood and Hopatcong are the 2 busiest motorized lakes in the area. They are beautiful but can be a little dangerous especially MDW. Every year there are a few incidents on the lakes. Glad you enjoyed just beware and best to stay away busy holiday weekends in kayaks

I've never been on the water there but have heard plenty of horror stories. I much prefer the quaint reservoir. More quiet, more wildlife, more relax! Do they rent at Greenwood lake?

Wawayanda rents too.....last year they had kayaks and paddle boards along with the normal canoes and paddle boats.
I don't know if they are renting right now because I'm there too early AM. give a call. You can camp & bike too! 😵

I want a kayak but I'm scared to death of riding there

You need specific pads for the model brake. There are 3 diff types metal, resin and combo. Metal are more durable and handle heat better, resin work better cold but can over heat and glaze. Combo is best of both. Prob ok no matter which you get but I tend to lean towards metal I think I heard resin have more issues wet could be wrong
My understanding is the same and I order metallic when replacing. I think metallic is more of a all season pads?
Plus, I hear resin squeal like a pig when wet?

I'm running metal now and just ordered resin because I can't stand the noise anymore from the metal.
Pads are still good, just VERY noisey

What kinda noise? Squealing or something else?
Yes squealing. They used to squeal when damp so I'd squeeze them slightly to "burn" the moisture off and they would be good.
But lately no amount of using them makes the noise go away. In fact they are worse when using them harder. I've tried cleaning the rotors and sanding the pads a little and nothing makes them better.

Any loss in braking performance?
If so... maybe the pads were contaminated?

yes, performance is down too, so new pads are in order. I've read all the tips to fix.
Maybe I'll try the setting on fire fix, as in burning off any contaminants. But for $20 for two new sets of pads it's worth changing.
Def contaminated fire only works on rotors I’ve tried it was fun I think @Fire Marshal Max has a pick pre ride. I would look into how they got contaminated before replacing if a brake leak it will need that resolved first
