OOS MOGA

Oh hey guys, I haven't caught up but I want to get this out there before I open it up to the rest of the board. I/we are looking for a group of 6 or 7 (depending on the task) people to help out on June 1 for the Six Mile NICA race. Basically they have these 2 items which are hard for them to fill:

1. 6 people to setup the infield
2. 7 people to setup the course

I'm hoping that we can get 6 or 7 of the OOS crew to do 1 of the 2 jobs. I feel like you guys would prefer to do #2 as a group. But that would require an additional person. What I think would be cool is if you can get 7 guys on the 1st, between 9-1:00 (it will likely be far less than 4 hours), help set the course up in your OOS jerseys, then go for a ride or hang out or whatever.

If you guys step up for this, I'll buy you lunch after the effort is over. The lunch doesn't need to be the same day. But I'll pick up the tab for the 7 guys top go out and get a good meal.

This is pretty much literally the ONE thing I will genuinely ask of the OOS crew this year. Can you guys help make this happen?

I'm in.

BTW, don't worry about lunch for me. I just want to help where I can.

Awesome!

Can I get some thought from:

@qclabrat
@Mtbdog
@I. Victor
@Paul H - yes I am calling on you for this ONE task
Won't bother with Max
@Mathers - I know you have kids and are far away but you volunteered once to help us*
@TimBay
@Tim
@serviceguy

* volunteering once = the kiss of death. I am not tied up in volunteering for MTBNJ, NICA for our team, NICA the league, JORBA, and my daughter's swim team.
I'm checking with the wife, but we might be up north by her parents. Can you shoot out the schedule for July and August? Maybe I can make my monthly OOS ride a volunteer day for one of those months.

First.... I need permission from the CFO.... now that the kid is turning 10 this year... I need permission from her
What has my life come to?!?!?!

@Norm At this point... I wanna say I am 80% in.
I will try to make it 100% tonight.

@TimBay - this will be the last NICA race I ask anything of you guys.

This is at Six Mile so you are helping me (MTBNJ), Ken & NICA, Jason & Halters.

After that there is 1 other day (6/8) but I am going to try to help cover than in a different direction. Thanks for looking!

Ok. If I can swing it, I'll post up.

@Kangdoy
@GreenMachine
You guys available for this?
6/1 Sat 9AM to 1PM

@Fire Marshal Max Can you make a post on this on OOS strava and ask them to respond to @Norm's post on mtbnj?

Already in sat infield set-up /sun. course marshall stationary w/bike Thanks @Norm Great idea and chance to show the colors!

Can I get you to move to course on Saturday? I want to try to get a full "block" of volunteering filled with a group of people, then get another block with other people. Unless the OOS crew would rather aim for 6 people and do the infield?

Thanks Frank!

So what kinda work is involved for course set up? Put up signs?

Yeah, generally going to be:

1. Hang signs (arrows and wrong way)
2. Put stakes in the ground
3. Hang tape on stakes

It took us ~3 hours to mark the Stewart course. This will be less than half the length.

Also as Frank says, there will be someone leading the crew.

So far:
  1. @jklett
  2. @Mtbdog
  3. ?
  4. ?
  5. ?
  6. ?
